Oh wow, let's see, at Sam's Club:
ground beef
HUGE bags of rice
" " " flour
" " " sugar
Frozen 5lbs. of whole green beans and other veggies as well.
Chips
Whole Wheat Bread
Chicken breasts
Milk
Eggs
LeSeur canned peas, they average around .80 cents per can, I can't find them cheaper than that.
Canned albacore tuna in water
Trash bags
Toilet paper
Paper Towels
Kitty Liter
Vinegar
Baking Soda
Bar-b-que sauce
Spices (These can be vacuum sealed into quart jars, with a Foodsaver to keep fresh for a VERY long time, all you need to do is to buy a Foodsaver universal lid sealer to use along with your Foodsaver)
Yeah, my list goes on and on and on.
Big cans of both pizza sauce (around $4.00) AND cheese sauce (again, around $4.00). ***FYI on both of these, they *can* be frozen. Freeze in ice cube trays and then once frozen, I use my Foodsaver to vacuum seal them. They will last for months & months this way.
It also makes it handy to take just a few cubes out for each pizza, or nachos. (I usually estimate about 6-8 cubes per LARGE pizza or 3-4 per plate of nachos)
Also remember you can buy Sam's Club pizza dough balls or already rolled crusts already frozen to make homemade pizza at home.
I'm all for making it from scratch, but some things I just don't want to take the time to do and this is one of them.
After moving a few months ago, we went back and forth whether we wanted to spend the extra money on getting a Sam's Club membership, but decided to do it and I'm so glad we did.
A couple other things I wanted to mention is to always take a list, know what you can spend beforehand and you should be able to stay within your budget.
Hth!
