This story tells me that the days of rolling RRs at Wags may be coming to an end:

WOW! I just read the story. Claims that stores carried 7-8 bottles. But there were stores that claimed it sold 100 bottles in a week. This looks like not only coupon fraud but the employees are stealing the coupons.
If you did not know. WAG can reprint RR. They can return the same bottle over and over and keep printing RR. Either an employee was doing this or there is a scam artist out there. I am putting my finger on the employees.
Seems like it has to go beyond an employee scam. How could over a thousand stores be involved, and nearly all the RR appeared to have never been issued. Just printed and redeemed.
I posted in another thread that I don't remember the FARR deal - seems like they never ran the promo and just submitted the RR for redemption by the mfr.
But that's all speculation. Who knows how it happened. If it was just an error, it's a very hard one to explain.
An audit of the coupons revealed that more than 1,000 stores claimed to have issued more coupons than the number of bottles they had in stock, the lawsuit said. Stores typically had eight to 10 bottles in stock, but seven stores had issued more than 100 coupons each. One store issued a whopping 1,306 coupons.
Consumers could have returned and rebought them. But only 7 of them had ourtragous numbers. I am pretty sure they have to actualy scan the product to be able to print the RR.
Another thing I thought of is maybe RR were redeemed. But what if they were trashed or something. So then Wag decided they still want to be paid for them and just printed a bunch. I don't really know if all this is true. Just how my little brain works.![]()
I have a friend who does some marketing for Johnson&Johnson. If you all haven't noticed, they have the longer "times' on coupons 3 weeks before Thanksgiving. Some of the coupons can last until April, depending on what it is. Baking supplies are some of those items. After Thanksgiving and until the end of January, the coupons are limited. Notice P&G are sending their coupons, ads and freebies out the last weekend of January? Also, with the economy on the fritz, many more are using coupons. Whether they have seen that show or not.
Being here in Alaska for years, I have noticed that the coupons I could get that were pretty decent, have slacked off quite a bit in the last few years. I don't have children, and those are the coupons that have the most savings at the moment. And we don't have a lot of the same stores as you all do down there. It is depressing at times, working on your budget and hoping to be able to get what you need.. not just what you want.
For me, those companies that are issuing lesser amount and shorter date coupons, I just don't buy their products anymore. THings just don't seem to go on sale much or at all when the coupon is valid. I don't buy hardly any processed food, so most coupons seem to be useless to me. With food prices skyrocketing (and paper products, pet stuff...everything) I'm just buying less period.
I think we will see this on more and more coupons. At least it four of like and not one or two of like...
