when if first started couponing 3 years ago, angel soft put out $0.50/1 (any size) and kroger had them $1.00 for the 4 pack and with the $0.50/1 doubled = free tp.
I have been thinking about this some more. I also miss:
More free shaving cream than I knew what to do with
Free scotch tape
pasta
actual coupons for free razors/not buy one get one free. For example when Schick Intuition came out there was a coupon for a free razor with no strings attached. I had enough to last 3 years or so. Also, Bic used to put out coupons for free razors
And I miss the Free After ECBS school supplies and Christmas supplies CVS used to do every year.
I love bargain shopping!

Let's see...
* Competitor triples at Shaws and Stop & Shop
* Shaws eliminating the "free when we make a price mistake" offer
* Walgreens rebate program (FARs with 10% bonus if they went to your Walgreens gift card)
* Infinite rolling RR at Walgreens
* Lots of free energy bar coupons (Kashi, Zone, Balance)
* Progresso Catalina deals
* Change of Mambo Sprouts coupons at Whole Foods from manufacturer coupons to store coupons
Wags rebate program: I used to get FAR shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, all kinds of stuff. Loved getting that check in the mail.
I've only been shopping at CVS for a couple of years, so I don't know how good the deals were before that.
I live in an area that does not have great doubles: only two stores near me double, and only up to .40. One time, one store had Langer's frozen juice on sale 3/$1. AND there was a coupon out in the paper at the time B2G1 FREE. So I stocked up on juice using the coupon with the sale. That's the lowest price I ever paid for juice.
The Deals dollar store near me used to accept manufact. coupons. I got juice, lunchmeat and I forget what else for super cheap, even free (just had to pay tax.)They also used to have carts that you had to put in a quarter to get the cart out. Almost every time I went to Deals, there was a cart that someone didn't put back, so I got a free cart.
Well, Deals changed ownership, and stopped accepting manufact. coupons. And they stopped using the quarter carts. It's free to get a cart now, but the carts are all over the place.![]()
I miss:
K-mart doubles, when there we no limitations
Price Chopper Triple coupons, they still dbl up to .99--that i am grateful for
Q-tip qs (the only brand we use)
Cheap/free pasta, as stated
Good Ragu qs, (the only brand the kids will eat)
I also miss the after-holiday deals I used to get. Now it seems with soooo many ppl couponing and trying to save, they clear the shelves at 50% off.
Using 2 Target qs w/manuf qs in one transaction.
I'm sure there are more, just can't think of any right now.
Yeah the whole "buy everything at 50% off" really annoys me too.
Must be just your area Peggy47. for I shopped at Kroger Sat and the doubled up to .60
I definitely miss the WAG rebates. I never had to pay cash since I'd buy my FAR items with the GC from the previous month's rebates.
I miss the days of the high limits at CVS, especially for the FAECB monthly deals. I miss when ECB's could pay for tax to get a $0 OOP.
I really miss the $10 off $50 purchase cats from Winn Dixie. I always used them at Publix. It was great getting $10 worth of stuff for free right off the bat. Once they replaced them with the 5/55, it just wasn't fun anymore.
Needing some deals that I got last few yrs.
