REMINDER: Wow! So many coupons expiring 12/31!! Check your stash!!

I usually go through my coupons around the middle of the month, to make sure I don't miss a high value or (especially!) free coupon before it expires. I'm amazed at how many coupons are expiring on 12/31!! Inserts, tearpads, IPs and frees!!

So, I thought I'd post here and remind everyone to check their coupon stash!! I know that a lot of insert coupons will come around again after the first of the year, so I'm not worried about them, unless they're really high value (yeah, right! Inserts??). But, the tearpads, IPs and Frees might not!!

I get a little sad when I think of all the ones I won't be able to use by 12/31.

I now have the front section of my binder devoted to Free and Expiring Soon coupons. I got sick of discovering expired frees or expired things-I-really-wanted, so now I put them all up front.

That's a good idea! I don't have my frees in with my regular coupons, though. I'm scared that my file box will get stolen, or left behind at the store. So my frees have their own little pouch on my coupon shelf. I just make sure that I go through them each month.

I got a little sad going through them, too. :( We just simply don't have room for all of the food ones expiring soon. I've been wanting to buy a used freezer to keep in the laundry room, but haven't found one for a good price yet.

I've got a ton to use too. Binder will be getting used very heavily until December 31. I have all my frees in my coupon pouch. I've been using one a time/giving them away so I don't let them go to waste.

I thought November was worse - I tossed a massive stack that I didn't get to use - mostly because I got too busy those last few days and then mistakenly thought the 30th was the 29th.

But like some of you I am about out of space too.

Plus, right now I am just dang sick of thinking about coupons.

I think it was either 2 or 3 years ago, I held onto some coupons that were expiring 12/31. I had my list written, and had planned to spend a day, going from store to store, picking up all of my cheap (and FREE) goodies. A snowstorm changed my plans! It took me a while to get over losing out on all of those free items!
