Default Your Interpretation of a Covergirl "Face" Product?

I've heard on FB and other sites that there's been some misuse of the $8/2 Covergirl face product Q. Someone said they emailed the company and Covergirl said products used on the eyes are excluded.

What's your interpretation of a face product? Do you think that anything that can be used on the face should be included?

The coupon is worded very wrongly and Cover Girl will regret it I am sure. Being that all makeup is technically on your face I don't blame someone for thinking it could be used on all face products. However I read and checked and it is clearly specified on their site different categories for their products, face, eyes, etc. so the eyeshadow is a no-go. I read alot of people are using it on other products but it is not intended to be used on them. I would have thought the same thing but I read and checked and it doesn't make sense but that is how it is. I think next time if there is ever a new coupon like this, they will specify more clearly. I mean most of the world would think that eyeshadow and lipstick goes on your face.

Their website says face products are foundation, powder, concealer, blush, bronzer, and face tools. Eye and lip products are not face products according to CG. I definitely see the confusion because eyes are on the face, but what else do you call this group of items?

I think they should've been more specific on the coupon. There would be no question what's included in the face product category had they just listed the products the coupon was intended for. I hope they learn from this. And instead of just not putting out another high value coupon, they make one with a concrete list.

This isn't the first time they've used this wording with no specific products listed.

coupon is vaguely written and I understand why there's a lot of confusion. after research on what CG categorizes as face products, I am sticking with those items. I still get good deals with it w/o having to ask myself, "did I use it correctly?"

We have contacted the CG representaives many times over the wording on these coupons, and yes one may be misinformed when calling their reps, but the face products include foundation, powder, concealer, blush, bronzer and face tools, just as it shows on their website:

Most people are not going to go and look up what CG means by face products...like I did not...I used it on items by GC that I put on my face.I have only got blush so far.

But to me lipstick, eye shadow, blush, liner, mascara, and so on are all face products for you use them on your face.

I dont think that anyone that has used the coupons on eye shadow used the coupons wrong meaning to (or most did not). CG should have been more clear on the coupons what they think a face product was to them. I am one that thinks a face product is anything that is used on the face and made by CG(in this case)..Not saying I will be buying eye shadow with the coupons but I feel that as long as a person is buying any kind of CG item that we/they put on our/their face then they are not miss useing the coupons because covergirl should have worded it to excluded the ITEMS THEY do not put in the "face product" group.

This to me is about the same as going in with the queen collection coupons that says $1 off one QUEEN collection PRODUCT coupons and being told that you have to use the coupons on make up for thats what is in the picture. Yes for you that dont know the queen collection has more than make up in it...

It is truly frustrating, and we are not making judgements.
I'm just saying that we can only have posts here at HCW that reflect deals using those coupons that are within the "Face Product" group as defined by the C&G website.
