Good thing I've got 10+ jars!
Sorry for the folks who will have to pay more....
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I had to post it so other people could read it. If it's in the wrong place, please move it!!
Yesterday, while I was in line at a small, local store, the lady in front of me asked me why I wasn't buying peanut butter. I thought she was talking to someone behind me, so I turned around and saw that I was the only one there. So, she asked me again. I told her I was getting it at another store, where it was on sale. She said she heard that the price of peanut butter was going up to (according to her) $4 for a small jar. She was buying 3 BIG store brand jars to "stock up." I would have loved to explain stockpiling to her...but I chose not to.
Anyway, I got curious, and looked it up today. Here's what I found:

Luckily, I'm pretty well-stocked...especially after picking up 6 jars at another store where they were on sale and I had coupons. But, I thought I should pass this on, in case anyone has a good sale this week, but wasn't sure if they should wait for a lower price.

That's scary. I can't believe it will go up that much. Gonna have to stock up at some bad deal prices now to get through the price increase. Oie!
My DH told me he had heard this the other day. I have about 6 or 7 jars up in the cabinet. But since DD eats a Peanut Butter sandwich every day for lunch at school, I better be on the lookout for a good deal soon!

Not surprised given the drought - however, in the article it also referenced how peanut growers cut their planting down by quite a bit because it was more profitable to plant cotton, so it's a double whammy.
I've got 11 unopened jars, I'm good - whew!
Coupons are found money - who walks by money on the ground??

I'm glad I have a bunch of jars in our stockpile and that my DD has switched over to taking baloney sandwiches to school because her friend has a PB allergy. I should be good for at least another year and then we'll see what the prices are doing.
I have 12 small jars and 11 large jars (got for $.25) so I think we are good for a while.
