Default Coupons from 2005:what they were like

I recently found a small stack of inserts in my attic from 2005. I've heard many saying how certain things have restricted coupon use and how they've changed over the years. I thought it would be worth posting about these. Many seem to be for the same value as you see today. Maybe the coupons aren't getting worse, maybe the companies just aren't keeping up with inflation. Considering minimum wage went from what 4.00 to 7.00, I can see why coupns may look like they're not giving as much. The few that I could tell when they came out do have a much longer time until expiration. May 2005 PG had Q's in it that didn't expire until 5/31, 6/30 and even 9/30! The products were interesting in that there were Q for disposable cameras and "the new double roll tp" Directv was giving a free DVD player instead of DVR. PG still had the 0.25/1 on Bounty. Bet that was free then. The only ones that seemed higher than today were for vitamins and meds. I didn't notice any that said DND.
I thought it was interesting comparing these with today's.

Interesting. A friend was cleaning out her mother's house because they'd had to move her in with them recently. She gave me a stack of old coupons. We aren't entirely sure how old they are, but they are all no expiration date. Sounds great except there are some pretty funny ones in there. How about twenty-five cents on 2 cans of Tang? Thirty-five cents on two boxes of Cheerios, anyone? I think the most interesting part is looking at how the packaging has changed in that time.
