Good for you for asking. I am absolutely horrible at this type of stuff and it makes my head spin when I read about some of these ladies' deals on here.
Ok, I'm not a math person- so figuring this out has my brain hurting - can anyone help?
I have several $2/2 Coca-Cola Products and 2 Ritz Crackers.
So, I took two of them to CVS and did this twice...
.69 - 2 Liter Coke
.69 - 2 Liter Coke
1.50 - Single Sleeve Ritz
1.50 - Single Sleeve Ritz
Total - 4.38
- $2 Coupon
2.38
I could take the rest of them to CVS and do it again - or I could take them to Kroger and do this...
.89 - 2 Liter Coke
.89 2 Liter Coke
2.39 - Ritz (regular size box with FOUR sleeves of crackers)
2.39 - Ritz
Total - 6.56
- $2 Coupon
4.56
So, which is the better deal? In one scenario I come out with only two sleeves of Ritz Crackers and on the other scenario I come out with 8 sleeves...?? So is the Kroger scenario better?? I'm confusing myself at this point. Can someone smarter than me please clue me in over here on which is the best use of the coupon? Also, should I go ahead and use these on one of the above deals or do you guys think I should hold them and wait for something better?![]()

Well, just think of it as for an additional $2.18 you are getting 6 more sleeves of crackers. Is that a good deal to you? Do you like crackers a lot or is getting cheap pop what you want most?
I love bargain shopping!
Um, I'm not sure if I wanted cheap crackers or cheap soda... both are good - we will use it all. My husband said if I'd used it for more crackers that would have been better.... total cost per cracker. ??

One other way to look at it is that your $2 is off 4 items, so it would reduce each item's price by $0.50 ($2 divided by 4).
CVS:
$0.69 Coke becomes $0.19
$1.50 Ritz becomes $1.00 for one sleeve
Kroger:
$0.89 Coke becomes $0.39
$2.39 Ritz becomes $1.89 for four sleeves or $0.47 per sleeve
To me, Kroger is a better deal even though your OOP will be a little higher. If there was a ECB deal at CVS to go along with the Coke, that might change my opinion.
This.
Another way is to take you final price and divide it by the # of items. This only works if the items are of similar value. I think a sleeve of Ritz is pretty close to a 2 liter. Others may not think so.
So CVS is .60 per item and Kroger is .46 per item.
I'd go with Kroger based on both AmyLynne's way and mine.

Ok - now that helped a lot! Thanks for breaking it down like that! Ok - so yes - Kroger.
Now, do you guys think this is a good price or should I hold onto the coupons and wait for something better?? I think they expire at the end of August.... I have probably 4 or 5 left. We could really use the soda's for upcoming holiday parties (we don't drink soda's daily, but we do use them when we are entertaining - which is a lot during the fall) and the crackers - well - what we don't use for snacks and school lunches will easily be used over the holidays on cheese and cracker trays... so it would be nice to stock up if this is the best price I'm likely to get.

My buy price for 2L is $0.75 or less after coupon (we only drink Coke), and for Ritz, it's $1.00 a package or lower. So for me, it's not a stellar deal, but better than paying full price. If I was out of one or both, I would do it, but I would not stock up using this deal. JMO.
