Does anyone know what the lowest price on multipurpose paper for copy/fax 81/2 x 11 was/is? I got it for free after rebate at Walgreens and maybe somewhere else, but I am down to the last package and almost out, so will be needing to get soon.

Has a list been started for this year's sales? It'd be nice to have everything in one place.

I know that WAGs has some good deals posted & there is a list in the Walmart forum. It'd be nice to only have one thread to check.

However, it irks me that I KNOW that the supplies will go into the classroom stockpile for those kids who constantly lose their pencils/folders/crayons/etc. My intention is to purchase what is on the list AND to get the extras that my children need as they learn to be responsible.

I started couponing in September and caught the tail end of the school supply sales! This all very new to me!

For those of you who have survived the "school supply search" for many years, words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! According to the schedule from the OP, it looks like I will be starting very soon... So did you do the weekly deals and check the items off of your list? How was it stored? Did it last all school year or did you need to supplement the stockpile in the spring? Did you go through the Sunday paper and look for deals and do a weekly run to multiple stores (this sounds like purchasing groceries!)? Oh, I feel a little overwhelmed....
I buy what's on the list and then:

20 boxes of crayons (I REFUSE to spend $2 a box during the school yr for them!)
10 pkgs of paper
30 spiral notebooks
10 glue sticks
5 pks colored pencils
5 pks of markers
20 -2 pocket folders with 3 prongs

I keep these under lock and key and hand them out sparingly to my 5 kids. My kids love to make "books" out of the folders, so I get white ones that they can decorate as the cover to the book they create.

HTH!

I just went to Walmart for the school supplies. It is easier than going back each week to save 25 cents on a pack of pencils with fuel costs being so high. Crayons were .22 (last yr was 20 cents), paper is .50, and spiral notebooks are .05, scissors $1.78, erasers are .50. I bought the folders and pencils at Staples penny sale. And then I bought their backpacks at Toys R Us this week because you get a free lunch box.
