Thread: Why do manufacturers do this? Changing the spelling of a word or making a brand name that has hyphens when they aren't necessary?

Yes, I'm guessing the Creme in the Philidelphia Creme is for the same reason as the Wyngz - it isn't really cream. So for truth in advertising purposes they can't really call it that. Dan o nino I'm guessing is because nino is for little boy, and since it is for little kids they want the nino part to stand out?

RoTel I have no idea. But maybe it is a hybrid of two names that started the company or something? But since they don't really need that star, maybe they could send it to Krusteaz, who clearly does lol.

Oh here we go on the RoTel. RO*TEL ® - RO*TEL History And I guess the star is the star of Texas, more for their logo than their actual spelling?

Here's another one that is just plain weird:
    Kozy Shack CowRageous Pudding Product
It dosn't sound very appealing to me, does it make you want to buy it?
    You're welcome!

As for CowRageous...I completely get the word play on "outrageous", but, um, Cow-Rage = Cow-Mad = Mad Cow... not the best idea IMO...LOL!
It's 35 cents off of ground round,
