In my experience over the last three years, this is the time of year that the deals are just few and far between. But don't worry they will return soon![]()
I don't know if I have lost my knack or what. I look at my coupons and I look for whats on sale and I cant seem to find any good deals like I use to.
Have I lost my coupon mojo or are the coupon and store deals just not matching up like they use to?

I'm having a difficult time as well. I joined the 2011 coupons in 2011 challenge. I've used 7 coupons this year...
Right now is when you stock up on post Christmas stuff. So as an example...ziploc with a christmas pattern...I stocked up at Walmart because they put it on clearance.
Same with smelly stuff.
Yesterday I got our year supply of stove top...because the grocery store is trying to get rid of there holiday supply. 99 cents a box...and I used $1.00/3 coupons. That's about as cheap as I can get stove top.
So to be honest...the ads are not telling me much as to what to stockpile...but I go through the store and just see what they are trying to get rid off. Whether it's clearanced Christmas stuff or just dirt cheap prices.
So far this year I have stockpiled
Stove top (country Market store)
Muffin Mix (muffin Mix dillons/kroger store)
Glad Press n Seal (Family Dollar)
Homestyle Mac n Cheese (Walgreens)
Ziploc Bags various sizes (walmart)
Smelly Stuff (walmart and Dillons)
Clearance Shampoo (Dillons)
I stockpiled on meat during December with all the rebates...and have a bunch of wine tags to get hamburger next month with.
Also stockpiled Pasta last month getting overage for it.
What I'm looking to stockpile in the next month:
~Hamburger
~cereal General mills has .55 cent coupons on one out...which I can get bumped up to a $1.00
~Items used for Super Bowl Sunday (chips/drinks/dip ect...) will be cheap...so time to stock up now.)
~Poptarts (I have an awesome coupon)
I havn't found a way...however...to just do one store. Part may be where I live...but I have to put quite a bit of effort into going to multiple stores to get what is good there.

There was a thread kind of similar to this just now in the Publix thread. A lot of it is the economy, but I really have noticed that in the past couple years the sales are better in the spring/summer than they are in the fall/winter. So here's to hopin' it gets better soon!
I've had to expand my horizons as well. I'm spending a lot more time in the store browsing for deals rather than just relying on the blah ads. Most of the best deals and FREES I've gotten this month have not been listed in ads, but I've found them cruising the aisles or learning on HCW or other sites what shoppers are finding. I probably spent 1.5 hours in the grocery store this morning. I was starting to feel like those TLC Extreme couponers. I only saved $30, though.![]()
i have seen the prices go up on food and the coupon value go down. I am feeling it as well. Last your TP was free now I am happy to get it between .25 and .39 a roll.

I have to say, I am not having any problems...I shop at Rite Aid for a lot of non foods, and CVS too (though not nearly as much) and grocery stores you don't have there (BiLo, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods and occasionally Food Lion) However 3 of those 4 stores double coupons up to $.99.
This month alone I have gotten pasta, muffin mix, nuts, paper products, light bulbs, kitty litter, oranges, margarine, a few cereals (though not great deal), yoplait yogurt, chicken, pork, (I have a 1/2 cow in the freezer so I don't even look at beef) oral care, the list goes on.
I have raised a few of my minimum prices to buy, but not by that much. My grocery budget for the month is $500 and there are 5 of us and 6 indoor only cats (that get premium food PLUS a can of wet everyday) and coupons come out of that too...I still have $35 left...It was $400 last year, but November and December killed me I went WAAYY Over budget though I did a bunch of meat rebates. Since it is $500 a month, it is a lot easier now. I too am trying to stockpile even more knowing the prices go up with the price of gas...but I had a pretty big stockpile to begin with and we rarely eat out only on special occasions-and Friday or the weekend isn't a special occasion.
I have never gotten free TP unless you count that Marcal that is like using a tree trunk.
