Inflation of all goods is coming soon to a store near you. It will not only be General Mills but all other manufactures of all goods.
Food and energy will be the real killer to most of us as these are what we need and use the most.
Recent freezing and poor weather in parts of the country have hit all crops hard. Produce prices are going up and quickly. Buy frozen and canned veggies and fruits now and stock up. Working in the grocery industry I see info daily now that is scary about what is going on in the fields. Add the fact that we devalued the dollar and imported items will cost more.
If you haven't noticed the pump price recently, it is climbing and may hit 3.50 to 4.00 by next summer. Can anyone see things getting any better soon?
If you are not in a good financial sit. now and purchased anything you really did not need for xmas you may want to seriously think about the need for that item.
Here is a link to an article, food prices could go up 4% or higher. Since this is overall inflation on all food, you could see some areas go up much more.
Food prices rise sharply - and there's more to come

Hey, why not? They raised the prices on all the healthy cereals that are paid for with WIC vouchers. Guaranteed cash cow for them there, but the rest of us who don't get WIC can no longer afford healthy cereals. Remember when the sugar cereals used to be more expensive than Cheerios? Now it's the sugary ones that are "affordable."
Maybe we'll have to redo two of our garden beds next year. I got rid of them since we were able to get the frozen veggies so cheap. I have no problem canning or freezing homegrown veggies.

Here is there brand names
General Mills: Brand Product List Page
Honestly there are very few products from the General Mills line I am partial to. And I don't find they have that good of coupons so I tend to buy other brands.
What we do buy on a consistent basis is:
Cheesy Mashed Potatoes (one of the few things my daughter will eat)
Cinnamon Toast Crunch if I have a coupon on one
Pillsbury products if I have a coupon on one (otherwise for like crescent rolls I'll just purchase generic)
Green Giant canned food if there is a great coupon out. I am completely non brand specific with canned veggies and fruit
Green giant frozen veggies if there is a great coupon out. I am not brand specific on these either.
Yoplait. This would be the one that would probably impact us the most. I buy a lot of Yoplait. My daughter will eat the whips really well...and she really has issues with most food. I ALWAYS use coupons...albeit they really are not that good of coupons. This one I've always chalked up to picky toddler and will have to continue too.
Products I will purchase if there is a killer deal
Cake mixes
muffin mixes
frosting
Fruit Snacks
Bisquick
I buy the premade cookies in the cold section after christmas basically
And that's about it. I'm far more likely to pay for Kelloggs as they generally have better coupons, and better freebies in the boxes (like movie codes).

I've bought a lot less GM products this year than in past years. I really like Cheerios, though, and would rather give them to Cara than Fruit Loops, but it is what it is.
