It just amazes me that people wanting to save money will spend more money than they will save just to save.

Rather than go to all the hassle of bringing the items back to the store, and then making a run to another store - did you consider taking in the Albie's ad to Target? If the sales are running at the same time, some stores will price match an item that you've already purchased, just to keep your business.
I know this practice is a lot more common with big ticket items - furniture, etc, but I don't know - would it be worth trying?
(BTW - it's not just the gas you'd be burning to do the returns, either - what about your time in line @ CS?)
Better to remain silent & be thought a fool, than to open your mouth & remove all doubt.

i know i did return a few items to kmart when the kmart was doing superdoubles and coupons were not scanned, but off the top of my head the only other thing i used a coupon on and returned is when i really needed to, like when i got my niece a gift that wasn't free it was a playskool toy with a 5/1 coupon or something, only to find out that she was getting similar item from my sister, I did get reimbursed the full product value, but i don't make a habit of it, and definitely not for 1$ or something better deal elsewhere, sometimes you just have to cut your losses, and a .96 difference for that many items is not worth the hassle of return and rebuy elsewhere imo.

All homemade broth does this, it is from the gelatin that seeps out of the bones. Not only is it a good source of protein, but it makes the broth richer without adding fat. It does look gross when cold, but once you heat it up it will return to a liquid and look and taste fine, and who eats broth cold anyway?

You have to wonder what is really in the canned broth that it doesn't gel up like the real stuff does.
I can't be done shopping, I still have coupons left!!!

You can skim out any offending gunk that you don't want in your broth. But like the previous poster said, it's normal stuff. My end result broth doesn't have it, but if I roast a chicken in a pan and then refrigerate it in the same pan, the jello will form at the bottom. When I make my broth, I skim out all the junk I can before it completely cools and then put it 2 cups at a time in freezer bags. That might be why I don't notice the jell. It doesn't taste the exact same as the store bought stuff because I don't add a bunch of salt, but I'm sure it would taste the same if I wanted to do that.

i think returning food is just inappropriate. saving is great, but there are basic principles of decourum. would you want to buy food someone else bought, took home, then brought it back?

Target is a store that does price matching and if the receipt had been brought in with the ad, a refund of the difference would have been made.
Other than bringing the receipt for price match, and only if I were going there anyway, I do not see the benefit of wasting the gas & time for 96 cents.
Not to say that I have not gone directly to CS at a grocery store to return an item that I thought was on sale and it ran up the regular price. Usually, they will return the item, or fix the error if it was on sale.
With regards to receiving full price when you use a coupon. I agree with PPs. It is not something that I would make a habit of. But if there were an instance where I grabbed the wrong item or there were something wrong with the item, I would return it and expect full price back since I would not be able to get my coupon back to replace the item AND the store would be turning the coupon in for cash +.08 handling. Again.,..not something that ya do on a steady basis...but a one time thing...nothing wrong with it.
    Just my opinion

I work at Walmart, and I was told we are REQUIRED with no questions to return the full price of the items. First thing, the receipts only say "coupon" and the saving price, it's hard to tell what that coupon was for to know how much the customer really paid for said item(s). Second, we would be doing shady business since we're getting money from the manufacturer and the customer then. By giving back the full price of the item, yes, technically you get back more money then you paid, but Walmart also gets extra money since we don't give back your coupon(due to how very difficult it would be to return coupons to customers). The only party losing money is the manufacturer by the whole deal. (sucks for them really)

I'm assuming all Wal-mart's treat this situation in the same way. However, I can't speak for other stores. I hope that might have helped. ^_^
