Coupons for making money

I have a dilemma and would like to see what others would do. I live just West of Atlanta and on Thursdays a special edition of the local newspaper is delivered at the end of everyone’s driveway for FREE. The paper that is dropped off has the exact coupons that will be in the Sunday’s newspaper.

I am a single mother of 4 kids, like many others living on a very tight budget. Coupons have helped tremendously. I use coupons to help cut cost to feed my family. I live in the very back end of my subdivision and my neighbors do not use the coupons so I have been able to get 6 coupon inserts weekly. Driving through my neighborhood you use to be able to find a few weeks worth of papers at the end of some people’s driveway and this would be a REGULAR thing.

Recently I have not been getting my paper. I just thought that they stopped delivering the paper to my neighborhood. So I would go a buy 2 Sunday paper instead. Well…..one Thursday I was off of work when the paper was delivered. I was thinking cool; they started delivering the paper again. Well……about 5 minutes I noticed someone driving house to house picking up EVERYONE’S paper. I happened to be in front yard so they did not pick up mine. When I saw this I walked to the end of my driveway to stood there watching them. They speed off my street.

Well this lady seems to have made my neighborhood a regular stop now. Last week I only saw 3 houses that had their paper still outside. Don’t forget it was a regular thing to see people leave their paper out for weeks. Here’s my feelings on this….there’s enough abandoned houses all over my county to pickup extra papers if you needed them that badly but to go house to house and pick up over 100 papers (There is over 100 houses in my neighbor hood) is just WRONG. Someone must be doing this just to turn around and sell them on EBAY. I know there are a lot of people struggling financial, I am one of them. I would not have a problem with anyone grabbing a few papers from an abandoned house or someone’s house that has a stack of papers out there already but to steal everyone’s just does not sit right with me. What would you do?

i would stop her and tell her to keep off my block and if not, i will call the police and report her for theft. make sure you write down her plate number.

it is one thing to take a stack of free newspapers left for whoever...it is an entire other thing to take them from the house they were delivered to.

Exactly what motherofmolly said. I'd actually take it a step further though - and take a picture of her doing it, THEN stop her.

I think you should call the newspaper directly and let them know what is happening. They may be able to do something and you can avoid confrontation.

I would take pictures of her doing it...and let her see you taking pictures....get her car tag etc. And not do anything with the photos....her seeing YOU take photos of HER might be enough to freak her out. If she asks....just say, Oh some neighbors have been wondering who steals our papers each week and a few of us have been on watch. I'm supposed to turn this in to the newspaper as they've gotten complaints and we'll let the newspaper deal with it. I BET if she saw you taking her photos, she'd never come back :)

I would take a day off again and get the tag number from the car and report them to the police and the paper co..I would aslo let other know what is going on for I bet several miss their paper.

you would have to get up and stick it in the paper before she got to it...and you know you would have to stick it in the actual coupon pages because she isnt looking at anything else!! lol

Wow, that just makes me sad.

I would be really angry and it would be hard not to confront her.
