I would seek advice from the police and/or neighborhood watch. Most communities have a police non-emergency phone number for nuisance calls. Also, in a community of 100 houses, there's probably a law enforcement officer living in the neighborhood who might assist. Let them handle it; it's probably happened before somewhere else and they know the solution.

I would NOT confront. People are crazy these days. On meds, off their meds, angry, schizo, whatever. Shudder.

Also coupon karma will catch her.

Being new to this, I think this is going to be happening more and more. I know myself I've never really understood how to use coupons until recently, and this has been a result of their use being featured more and more on TV. Not just one the news but on reality shows like Downsized and Extreme Couponing.

I know our Sunday paper sold out today much faster than usual, and all of the extra inserts that are normally left on the bottom of the coin operated paper stand were gone. I had to wonder if someone had just taken all of the papers that were left, since you only have to pay for one and can take as many as you want. I mean, why not just cut out the middle man and shoplift directly from the store? In the end it's pretty much the same thing. But people tend to get carried away with "saving" and thinking they are getting something for free and sort of forget what it is they are really doing.

She's stealing. Those people didn't even get a change to get them before she snagged them. I would avoid confronting her but I would write down her license plate number and call the police.

I'm pretty new to this too, and extreme couponing is what got me back on the bandwagon, but I really hope your wrong about this. I mean really how can people not see this as stealing?! I went and bought 6 papers this week and the coupons more than made up for the cost. and they wonder why newspapers are dying. psh people drive me nuts sometimes.

I have the same problem. The Leader in NJ used to send batches of newspapers with coupons on Wednesday night/Thursday mornings. I live in a complex, so they would live batches on the group mailboxes. This was great for years. Everyone was kinda respectful and only took one per family, and if any were still left a week later...on Wednesday, I would gratefully take the leftovers (usually noone wanted them!).

Well, this all ended a few months ago. It is either the landscapers, the cleaning staff, or the construction crew working on the complex...or someone driving in and snatching them. I have been unable to nab them, but by Thursday morning, they are all gone. If I wake up super early, I can grab one for my family. What I was doing for a while was go out early, take them all, and then put them back right before 6pm, when 90% of the residents come home. But frankly I don't really have time for that, so I stopped.

It is frustrating. I know it is a free paper, but that is just so rude....how do people live with themselves?
"Paying" for groceries is for suckers.

That woman is STEALING. My in-laws live in the Atlanta area, and many of my MIL's neighbors give her their Thursday paper because they know she uses the coupons. But - they do that Thursday paper for free, but only for people who don't otherwise subscribe to the paper. (My MIL just gets the regular Thursday edition since she subscribes to the daily paper). This means.....that if that lady is taking EVERYONE'S Thursday paper - she is also picking up (STEALING) those papers that are PAID FOR - not just the free ones. There is no way for her to tell the difference!
