Default questions about shopping in Wisconsin

*please move this if needs be...I wasn't sure what place to put it

I'm going to be traveling to Wisconsin for 2 weeks...as my sister is moving there. We will be in LaCrosse.

Where do I shop? What's the good stores...what are the bad stores?

Any thrift stores?

tell me where to go to spend my mullah! LOL

Woodman's would be the best place for groceries IMO. They don't ever seem to give any overage, but the have the best prices around and will take printables under $2.

I don't live nearby, but have visited many times and haven't done much thrifting there so I can help with that one.

We were just in La Crosse over the weekend , my DH is from Wisconsin. We stayed at a Baymont Inn right behind a Woodman's , but I didn't even get a chance to go in. We were there for a family reunion. So, I am no help, just would love to have met another HCW member

bummer

we are still here for the rest of the week. We went to the piggly wiggly yesterday...just to say we've been to the piggly wiggly (you know your a couponer when you think a grocery store is a tourist attraction)....but I need to get over to Woodman's LOL. My sister ventured in there last week and was amazed at there selection.

I'm really enjoying all the wine tags here...they are non existent In kansas

May be visiting Kenosha for just a short spell soon. Is sales tax figured before or after coupons?

Does any place double coupons? Accept expireds?

Does CVS or Walgreens accept expireds?

Hi, I live in Waukesha, two counties north of Kenosha. I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to the first question.

Our part of the state is mostly the LOND, but a local grocery store chain called Pick n Save sometimes does limited doubles one or two days per week. I checked and they have two Kenosha stores. You might want to call about their "Double Daze" coupon promotion: Pick 'n Save - Living Up To Your Life

Sadly, I have not found one store that will take expireds in my area, whether it be CVS, Wags, Walmart, or any local grocery store. Perhaps someone from Kenosha has found a location, but I have not in SE Wisconsin.

Check out the Woodmans grocery store. It's right off of I-94. Huge store (and a block away is the state's only White Castle, if you're interested)

I completely agree...go to Woodmans. Even if your not shopping cause there coupon selection is fabulous

Seriously they even tape the coupon right by the product for you to grab and use ...let alone the thousand and thousands of peelies, blinkies, tear pads, you'll find everywhere.

and if you ever need a product you can't find anywhere else...it will be at woodmans. It's not just grocery shopping there...it's an adventure.

Still have not heard whether tax is figured before or after coupons. If you redeem a coupon for a FREE Schick razor, do you pay anything OOP?

Also, do you all have fresh strawberries available this time of year and at what price?

I dont know if tax is before or after q's, however, we have no food tax, so that's fun when you buy groceries :)

Woodman's is awesome. Great prices, HUGE selection.

Fresh strawberries, we have them, either this week or next week, depending on what part of WI you are shopping in will be 2/4 at Pick N Save. (kenosha will be starting Thursday) The strawberries aren't really that great, they are shipped in and not as good as super fresh strawberries off of a farm, but I'm picky :)
