4. Stop clipping crappy coupons. Take a good look at the grocery coupons you're clipping before getting excited about the deal. Many coupons offer deals on highly packaged foods low in nutrition and high in unpronounceable ingredients. Skipping the crappy coupons and opting to pay a little bit more for whole foods may be a better deal for your health in the long run.
What's insulting about that? It's true! Though I won't stop clipping crappy coupons b/c I know I can trade them for "whole foods" coupons.
Actually it almost makes me happy to see that they are telling people to " stay away " from coupons- that way i will have less competition in the stores, trying to " chase " the deals :) .. don't you get it ? The more " couponers " in your area- the harder it is to get those " freebies " - so - relax.. it all has its positives..
You and I know that those " crappy " coupons give us free toothpaste, deo, liners, shampoo, detergent, soap, - and THAT , gives us more money to pay for the " whole foods" - :) Just because there are a ton of coupons on " crappy " food does not mean that i have to buy all " crappy " food..
no reason to get exited about it :)

I agree the more people that do couponing the less deals I get so I vote that we keep quiet about the "crappy" coupons, lol and trade away and everyone gets the deals that are right for their household.

Did anyone see the Yahoo report from a few days ago that said that like 8 reasons to not clip coupons - mainly that it doesn't save you money?? I so wanted to email them and tell them off..
Don't :) again for the same reason. In this " hard " times- everyone is trying to save some money. If we all start talking " loud " about this freebies and great deals, can you imagine if everyone was chasing them in your town ? It takes only 3-4 hard core couponers in one area to not be able to get any deals :) don't .. just don't ..
Let them be " proud " and smart- and empty pocket-ed.. and let us do our business :)

I'm not insulted by that, I buy snack foods, most people do. But do I pay for them? Ahhhh, that is where the rubber meets the proverbial road now isn't it?
And obviously the author hasn't bothered to really look at the coupons being put out lately, there are sufficient numbers of coupons available for excellent and wholesome foods and beverages.
And all those CATS and other things we get from our mindful ways buys us the 'worthy' foods they seem to be hung up on in #4
I don't clip crappy coupon's either. I clip the good ones. IN my area it isn't worth it to clip the 35 cent Tide coupon...no triple's here...so it doesn't get clipped unless it's going to someone else in a train or trade. I wait until a better one comes out.
Once you know that eventually you'll get or find a better one..you learn to decifier the good vs the bad of those coupons.
And did you see...later on they went to another article...about the 5 foods to grow...and the author cites this article:
This is what the author wrote
William Alexander, the author of "The $64 Tomato," learned that the hard way. The title says it all, but the dirty details reveal he spent $16,565 building the perfect garden and $735 maintaining it for one year. Amortizing the initial costs over 20 years, adding this year's expenses and dividing the result among all his produce, he figured his 19 Brandywine tomatoes cost $64 apiece.
I'm thinking whatever schmuck spent $16K on a garden...probably isn't as smart as he thinks he is...

Yeah, I don't clip crappy coupons like .20/1 Pampers Wipes or anything like that, but the statement they made about clipping coupons for junk food is kind of stupid because if someone is going to buy the item anyway, you might as well save some money on it.
