Re: Do Not Double... WHY? The only thing I can think of that makes any LOGICAL sense is that the wording "Do not double or triple" is on there for the CASHIER'S sake, not the customer. So it is there to make sure the cashier does not scan that ONE coupon two or three times. The wording on coupons is pretty clear that you can only use ONE coupon per item, but some people may think that "Doubling" means scanning the coupon more than once, or using ONE coupon for multiple products.
Maybe some cashiers were scanning the coupons multiple times and the stores were trying to get reimbursed for the multiple use of one coupon. Most fine print reflects trying to avoid problems that have occurred in the past with improper usage, so they write up verbiage to protect themselves.
I don't know, but that's the only LOGICAL thing that makes sense to me. The manufacturers aren't there to protect store losses, but their own losses. Stores can pretty much take a loss or double/triple whatever they want to be competitive and get customers in the door.
