Funny thing a store manager said...cashiers need to quit thinking so hard

I called our local grocery store to check about the wording on a recent ONYO CAT- it was a buy $30 in various pet supplies, get $10 ONYO. But because it was issued by local chain and not one manufacture, instead of saying 'complements of Kraft' at the bottom it said "when you buy $30 in pet supplies". You can see how a cashier could interpret that and sure enough I ran into one that didn't want to let me use it unless my order was over $30 & I was buying pet supplies If I bought $30 worth of pet supplies to get the ONYO last week, why would I be buying another $30 worth this week :shrug7:

When I asked the store manager (may have been the owner...they sound alike) about it over the phone, he actually said that some of the cashiers need to quit thinking so hard and just do their job He also said I could come in and buy a bottle of soda, use a $10 ONYO & get the rest of the change back from the $10 Their ONYO's don't prohibit buying stamps either, so since stamps are more important then a bottle of soda, you know what is on my grocery list...especially since I have 4-$10 ONYO's to use.

BTW....anyone need any Mighty Dog? One of the qualifying items was Mighty Dog at $0.60/can...or 50 cans for $1.80 tax with coupons & get a $10 ONYO. I don't want to know the exact number of cans of Mighty Dog I ended up with, but its a lot...and the store was kind enough to give me a couple boxes from liqueur bottles with the dividers in them that fit the Mighty Dog can perfectly

good for you!! I get hassled for using a $.25 Q that SHOULD double, I can't possibly imagine a complicated ONYNO, pet supplies and Kraft thrown in the mix.. again good for you!!!!

Geez. Our stores NEVER give back change from an OYNO. It has to be completely spent. ugh.

Not that far from you...its the only grocery store out here in Portland, Tom's. You might want to check out Feldpausch in Grand Ledge...its also a Spartan store and it has double coupons up to 0.50, and they seem pretty laid backed too. Its basically across from the Grand Ledge Meijer.

I made out like a bandit at Feldpausch too last week with the Mighty Dog since they had the same ONYO deal + they had it for 0.50/can. For every 60 cans, or 12 $3/5 coupons, I had $6 in coupon overage to spend on other stuff + I got a $10 ONYO. Making $16 on every 60 cans was way too good of a deal My cats love that for every 24 packages of Temptation Cat Treats, I made $6+ with coupons & double dipping on ONYO's (get $10wyb$30 & $1 for every 6 Temptations).

This weeks stock up items at Feldpausch/Spartan Stores~ Kraft 100calorie Cheese Packs, on sale for $2. Buy 3, get $3 ONYO...use $1/1 Kraft 100calorie Cheese Packs (IP & from 5/16SS) and you end up with free cheese! The one advantage of having a locally owned store...and I do mean locally owned, as in its named for the guy who owns it & he & his family live in small town of a couple thousand people. He will do anything to keep his store competitive with big guys- Meijer's & WalMart, and has. One of these days I should mention to him that stores 10 miles away double coupons and he'll probably start doing it...we are the first town over the line into the vast are of 'no doubles'...
