2% Food Tax starting today!

Satrting today we will have to pay 2% tax on all of our food purchases at the grocery store.:sad:

Only two cities will not partcipate, they are Surprise and Mesa. Good for all of you that live there.

They say they will raise 12.5 million dollars by June of this year! Did I hear that right? WOW!!!

Anyway so much for totally FREE food for us here in AZ :sad:

Sorry. We didn't have food tax when we lived in Fl but here in Alabama we pay 9% so if you think of it that way, you will feel better.

Here in TN were I live it's 9.25%!!!(and for non food items it's 9.75%!)

Wow! 9% in some states!!?? That's pretty high. We don't pay tax on food items in CA..... for now.

I guess I shouldn't complain. Our state is hurting for money right now. Supposedly this is saving 44 jobs, firefighters-policeman and also going for other things. But geesh, we pay enought taxes, but I guess I'll just have to get used to it, nothing we can do, can't starve. Its just gonna get worse.
