As it should be too! Unfortunately many governments think they're 'entitled' to everything they want

PA doesn't tax 'necessities' which for the most part is good. Food, clothing, not taxed. Restaurant/take out food, swimwear, taxed. Trying to figure out what the state has deemed a 'necessity' can be challenging.

2%-9%--ouch!

I just noticed the swimwear tax recently . I guess i never noticed it before..

Toilet paper is not taxable.

they do tax certain beverages thought. Fruit juices that have less than 10% real juice in them and all soda/ice tea /sport drinks are taxed

The answer isn't more tax, it's eliminating wasteful spending, those jobs that are truly unneeded, and more oversight.

It's even worse when those in charge think the first thing that should be cut is schooling, police, fire fighters etc. They would never cut their own job, or decrease there inflated salaries.

I know it's sort of unrelated but I am president of my condo association. We have DECREASED maintenance fees by 20% while INCREASING services over the past 18 months. We have also been able to put MORE money away into reserves. All by OVERSIGHT ON SPENDING and eliminating waste!!

Thankfully I have never lived in a state that taxes food. I think it's absurd!

Totally agree with you cory! I think the economy would improve faster if taxes were cut alongside spending cuts at all levels.

Politicians threaten to cut necessary services such as police, firefighters, and classroom teachers (never bloated school administration staff) in order to frighten voters into agreeing to more taxes.

If they seriously wanted to improve things they would slash taxes to stimulate hiring and cut out frill spending - why not stop paying wasteful agriculture subsidies (would cost them votes though), stop the national endowment of the arts (why should we be forced to subsidize foo foo sculptures when millions of useful citizens are out of work?), stop subsidizing public radio (there are plenty of radio stations out there so why are we being bilked to support this one?), stop taxpayer subsidies of unions and "community groups" such as Acorn and their ilk.... etc ... the list is endless...

And for all of our sakes, DEMAND they repeal that health care monstrosity and enact term limits! (Wishful thinking)
