I really hope it isn't true as I have just started and can't imagine going back to my old ways.
We 'had' to buy a bottle of A1 sauce tonight at full price $4.99 I almost had the big one.
I hope we are just in a lull and that it will revert to the deals I've heard about here. :) My fingers are crossed for sure.

It will pick up in spring probably a little but I think they "good old days" of couponing might be gone for awhile. I also have lots of the cvs goodies from years ago, anyone need some tampons or pads? I have 2 teenage girls and myself and we have used about half my supply from cvs the one oct. That was the best ever, after it was over I had hundreds of boxes of pads, tampons, mouthwash, ect and a little over $900 in extracare bucks. It was a cvs christmas, all 3 of my kids got digital cameras, memory cards, portable dvd players, it was insane.

Don't get discouraged though, winter months are always the worst time it seems. As it gets warmer so will the deals
Sounds like the year I joined. They had the Novamax monitor deal w/ coupon in th booklet...I think ya got $10 ECBs for each one limit 5 per card. I got tons of stuff that Christmas @ CVs including the portable DVd player (we still use and drag around)

I've been a hardcore couponer for about a year now and I agree that it's a little more difficult. I never knew the days of no limits on ECB deals at CVS, so I don't miss those. However, I do miss the Kmart doubles!

There are lots more couponers out there now also, so that means more competition to get the deals. I wish the economy would get better so those "occasional couponers" would stop!

I have noticed that coupon deals are far and in between from this time last year .I have used coupons for years , but it's like pulling a tooth at these stores now. They change all these store policies to suit themselves now.......I don't even try to argue with them anymore. I have been using my stockpile for awhile now and and it's running low. We need some really good deals to come along. As for the coupon amounts it seems to me we keep getting about the same coupons every few weeks.... or it seem that way where I live.

I've noticed right now the coupons are not as good. They are off 2 or off 3 instead of off 1 and they are .75/2 instead of $1/1 so you get the drop off both ways. I think it's the economy for 2 reasons, less sales and more couponers. I'm hoping things pick up again soon!

I've noticed that the deals aren't as good in my area anymore. I've only been couponing for about a year and half, and things have definitely gotten worse. Things that I noticed would always go free every three months now go 2 for .50 or 2 for $1. I don't want to pay that much! /cries
