Default Grocery Shop at Home Free Shipping

I wasn't sure where to post this. It is a new website. They apply coupons that are in inserts to your order and the shipping is free. The prices are pretty good for an online shop. This would be good for those that aren't able to get out and do grocery shopping. The site is called Alice.com

News Re: Grocery Shop at Home Free Shipping

Alice.com: I just read about this website, today. I read about the men who have created this company. These 2 men, Brian Wiegand and Mark McGuire, created jellyfish.com that sold to Microsoft about a year ago and before that, they created nameprotect.com that sold to Corporation Services Company in 2007. This is their third joint venture and it all began with one question, "Why don't people buy toilet paper online?" Personally, I can only think of Amway Co.'s Quixtar and Safeway's Peapod to buy household goods online and have them delivered. I see a couple major differences with Alice.com. The first one being that they never charge shipping (UPS 2-3 days) and Alice is working to keep their prices competitive with local "Big Box" stores like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Target, as well as retail grocers. Alice.com also allows shoppers to use their online coupons, they swear there are hundreds to click and use. I read several customer entries stating the prices on basic products such as detergents, compared very well. I've yet to sign up. I'm thinking about the idea of not being able to double/triple my clipped coupons or stack them with the online loadables for some really cheap or free items, like I do to shop at Kroger. Will this be a good idea for me? I don't know, yet. But if your nearest store is more than 15 minutes away and you don't heavily rely on super coupon deals, consider checking it out. The creators have proven that their work is at least worth looking in to. If you try it, come back to this thread and tell us what you think! We'd love to hear about your experiences.

Default Re: Grocery Shop at Home Free Shipping

I used it once and was very impressed with the promptness of their service. As far as the coupons go, though, it isn't "couponing" like we are used to doing. They have coupons listed as being available on their site and when selected you can only use one (for example, one of the things I used a coupon on was Splenda- I could only get one Splenda with the -$1 coupon attached). I did order a few things and used a virtual coupon on each with no problem. The prices really are very comparable to what I would expect at a regular store but, as stated above, you aren't able to use a lot of coupons on the purchase. I think this service is ideal for those who are shut in, elderly, or maybe snowbound (I don't know anything about that here in MS). If anyone wants a referral let me know, I would love to have you sign up under me! I have a friend who hates going to the store and this is her new favorite site. I swear, if they could figure out a way to sell perishable food, she would never set foot in a kroger (etc) again!
