Default First timer...

I went today with very high hopes. I was so excited to go grocery shopping, first time in my life!

I went to Bilo-
BC savings=44.75
Coupons savings=17.91
Extra coupon savings?=3.15

My total was 130.88
I spent $66.52
Saved $65.81

PUBLIX
Vendor coupons=7.65
store coupons=1.99
advertised special savings=27.43

Total Paid=37.23
Total saved=$37.47

I feel so let down, I worked soooo hard I mean I spent hrs and hrs getting ready...I feel cheated that I did not have more in coupons!
I guess I did ok, I just need to buy chkn and ground turkey. I usually spent about 250 on grocerys for 2 weeks I usally only buy walmart brands and what we need-no extra boxes of stuff...so at the rate I am going I will send about 130. Thats 120 difference! That is way cool! I also bought name brand this time and extras that we can start a stock pile with.
I guess I did ok...please tell me I did. i just want to get to the point that I walk out of the store and saved WAY more than I spent. I would love to cut the bill down to under 100, am I dreaming?
Thanks to all who helped me this last week for my adventure today! it is very much appreciated! :)

I think you did great! You saved over $100! Milk, meat, produce, etc all add up so you'll very rarely spend $5 for every single thing your family needs. The key is saving on things you use regularly and stocking up when it's on sale and matched with a coupon. After awhile, you'll have a stockpile of things you really use....that's when you can get the grocery bill very low (think only buying meat, milk, produce and a few incidentals) and replenish the stockpile.

So GREAT JOB!!!

It will take less time to get everything together the more you do it and get used to coupons and store deals. You did wonderful especially buying meat and veggies. Great job!
