QUESTION Has anyone tried to use coupons with the new WIC program

Specifically the fruit and veggie voucher/check they give out???

Here in Kansas they are giving you a $6.00 I guess voucher where you can spend on any fruit or veggie (fresh, frozen or canned) (with a few limitations on the canned and no potatoes). You can spend more than the $6.00 and you just pay the difference.

So now I wonder....would I be able to use a coupon or two with that particular WIC transaction??? Just trying to get more bang for my buck KWIM?

    Anyone tried it yet?

As far as I know (and I get WIC also), they encourage us to use coupons as it saves the program $$. I do not have the new checks yet as I had my son in August, so my checks are good for awhile and are of the old list. In NJ we are getting $8.00 (i think) for fruits and veggies. If I may ask you...what are the limitations on the soymilk? I've been waiting for it as regular milk and me do not go well together!!

Oh soo jealous on the $8 for fruit and veggies.

I haven't seen anything for soymilk but to my understanding if you get a script from a doctor stating you cannot drink reg milk....they usually will give you soy (but not rice).

They also will do lactose free if needed.

I just got my new vouchers yesterday so I haven't tried. I live in Arkansas - we got 8 bucks for the veggies. They were doing the 14$ worth of farmer's market checks. Each check was 2$ etc. But - our local market...rarely actually has much out there so I was stoked to see this new addition the program. Let me know how it goes for you should you try. I would like to get as much for my buck too!
