Default Re: Anyone else not 'green'

I've stumbled into the 'green' thing. Cloth diapered my daughter (like disposables are also supposed to do like us cloth users do, flushing the poopy, it's on the Pampers site if you look), Our city recycles some. My aunts bunnies get our newspapers. Wash in my HE washer, using cold water most of the time, dry in our sensing dryer that stops when it's dry. We have an energy star dishwasher. In warmer weather, I'll use the wagon and walk to the grocery store. I've got the kitties litter box in the bathroom, next up is raising it up, then on the potty... in the end I plan on him being toilet trained and no litter box. We have CFLs, turn off lights. We are going to finally get a new thermostat (it's hard to find one for a heat pump with auxilary heat), so we can have it set different for night and day.
My 6 year old is all into recycling. Learning about it at school. Figure, if we can do it and she gets excited over it, maybe that much less will be waiting in the landfill for my great grandkids.

My mother in law seems to go out of her way to be anti-green. Pretty sure the grandkids will end up working on her, my 6 year old already asked her why she throws away cans.
I just want to be a good steward as I can to our planet, because it's good for our descendants.

My husband and I try to be green. It's just the two of us, so we're trying to get in the habit of it before we have kids. We take our recycling to my parents in another county when we go visit, the place here charges $35 a month to do it. The place that picks up my parents does it for free. We use our HE washer and dryer. We do two loads of laundry a week, one load of towels, one of clothes. Our dishwasher wasn't energy efficient, we just bought the house, and since it decided to stop working we decided to purchase one that is. We recently had a storm door put on the home that will help reduce the amount of time our heat/ac is on. And, we keep the house at a steady 65-66 degrees in the winter since it's gas, it feels like 69-70. We take the tops off of our cans and give those to the ronald mcdonald house, maybe not green, but it helps.
