Default What has couponing taught you??

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I was just thinking about what couponing has taught me as an individual.

I think the three top lessons I have learned are:

1. To be more assertive and knowing the right manner in which to go about it. Sometimes its honey and sometimes its straight to the habaneros.

2. People don't like to apologize for really bad behavior. They would rather eat their shoes than allow the words "I'm sorry" exit their mouths.

3.Companies are in it for the money - every dime they can get their hands on. Good thing is I am in if for the savings - every dime I can.

Be selective in who you share everything you know with, I've had that one bite me in the behind big time, it was painful & permanently ruined what I thought was a good friendship.

1. Be more assertive, don't be afraid to ask - the worst they can say is no!

2. Help others, share. Give a friend (or a stranger!) a coupon or a helping hand.

3. Everything tastes better when it's free!

It has taught me to be much more assertive, I am not an assertive person by any stretch of the imagination. Using coupons has forced me out of my comfort zone!

I have learned a lot from couponing...

1) There is no excuse to pay full price for anything. EVER.
2) Having a stockpile is a huge important part of it all. Because sometimes those situations come up where you just can't afford the grocery store...
3) and as pp mentioned...it's helped me to step out of my comfort zone. I have always one of those shoppers that just wants to blend in, and couponing is never really a way to do that :shrug7:

Not only that, but I've learned a lot about finances and budgeting along the way and it has been hugely beneficial to us!

1) Children can spot a blinkie or tearpad from across the store
2) There is always another sale, don't worry if you miss this one.
3) 20 large bottles of Purex WILL dislocate a cabinet from a wall...
4) I am much better at math (especially calculating prices vs coupons/sales for lowest prices) than I thought.

And, I have to agree with the pop tart post, and add the same thing applies to fruit snacks!

The sayings nothing is ever free...is wrong.....as well as "you get what you pay for." Not so much....I get a lot more than what i pay for

And my math skills are horrible except where couponing is concerned!!

LOL Thanks! Soap now goes on the floor until I get the cabinets re-inforced. The worst/funnier part, when it fell, I was way more concerned about the soap than the cabinet. Luckily none broke open!
