I typically spend $75/week for my family of 6 (this includes everything: Food, diapers, baby food, hba, dog food). I have noticed in the last month that I have gone $10-25 over budget, but part of that expense was planning for a camping trip. I recently got 2 out of diapers (twins) so I am enjoying the savings in that area. I am tempted to potty train my one-year-old now!

I really don't know what our budget is there is 3 of us I went crazy last summer and stock piled so much that when I go to the grocery store I only buy coupon items or milk ,bread, creamer and meat so if I had to guess I'd say 10 a person .

Great job! That's the goal: stockpile coupon items, maintain the stockpile for a few dollars a week as long as possible (you've already made it a year!) and then only spend a few $$ each week on staple coupon-less items.

Bravo!

I spend about the same as I did before, I just have lots of excess now, where I had little before.

I think I need to start using cash only. Take out my budgeted amount each payday in cash and stick to it- NO MATTER WHAT! I tried this before, but as soon as a deal came along that I really wanted to stock up on, out comes my debit card and I ended up spending about $50 more than I had wanted to.

I seriously think I'm addicted to shopping. Thank God I only buy bargains or I'd really be in a mess. But I need to somehow learn to stick to a budget, regardless if something pops up that is a bargain.

Yes, $1 for a $10 razor is a great deal. But if I already have 50 razors, there is no need to spend $20 buying more razors. And $.49 cereal is a great price, but when we already have 30 boxes, there is no need to buy any more. I feel like I cannot say no to a great deal. A good deal, yes. A great deal, NOPE!

If anyone has any tips or websites that might help me make, and stick to, a budget, I would really appreciate it! I don't even know what a reasonable budget would be?!?
I exactly just like this! i could have wrote the same post. I have a had time saying no to deals. Dh has told me to stop buying cereal since we have so many boxes right now. We really do eat a lot of cereal though. i recently made myself cash out my extra care bucks, meaning i bought something that didn't give me ecbs back. i needed a new coffee maker so i got that. I really had to stop the stockpiling of hba items! it is all so addicting. i am stil trying to figure out how much to spend and not spend!

Although I couponed quite a bit before joining HCW, I did not match coupons to sales very well. Prior to HCW, I spent $150/week for a family of 4 (using coupons!) Now I spend $125-$150/month, plus I also get h&b, paper supplies and cat food in that budget. I've cut my budget by 75% and have a great stockpile! I live in the land of no doubles, so it's a good challenge for me.

I have to say that I spend $30 a week per person for our family of three. I could easily get this down to $25 a week if DH could curb his MILK addiction. I am not kidding! The man can drink up to a half gallon of milk a day by himself. DD and I use milk on cereal, and have a glass with dinner sometimes, but I buy 4-5 gallons of milk a week. It could be worse, I guess, he could be drinking beer instead. I buy the very low-fat milk, with only 1/2% fat. We also eat a lot of fresh produce, salads and fruit mostly. I buy lots of berries in the summer, both blueberries and strawberries. We eat them everyday.

i think it depends on the week/sales whats going on in my life at the time

up until the last few weeks, i was averaging about 35.00 total a week for 4 for food.......now its about 70$ a week for 5 for food (we have mr lattes son currently ) + an additonal 30.00 a month for diapers and whatnot

some weeks are definately better then others

For the remainder of my maternity leave I am going to keep it to 10 bucks a person.. so $40 a week. I'm not counting the baby at this point since I am nursing and stockpiled diapers while I was pregnant.

This includes everything but pet food.

I vary a whole lot!!! Some weeks I will spend a total of $100.00 a week for 4....Other weeks like the last three I just buy needs and that will equal maybe $30.00 a week just really depends on the sales and whether I need to stockpile something on that sale. I think one week every 2 or 3 months I will actually go upwards of $150.00 but that usually means I am buying bunches of meat that week.
