Weird checkout lady at cub food!!!!!!!!

I used @40 coupons at cub food today. The checkout lady took alot of time to check each coupon with items I was buying, then she pulled out a store notebook and started checking something, I could not see what she was checking. I asked what she was doing and she would not tell me. Does anyone know what she she was doing? I thought the computer automatically reacted if the coupon is scanned for an item that is not a match? It took forever and was really weird.

I, would call the store and ask them, and i would tell them that the cashier wouldnt tell you when you asked her, btw her name should be on the bottom of the receipt.

I'm not trying to cheat, either. That's what's so crummy about it.

Odd. I would have had a hard time keeping a straight face when she wouldn't answer your question about what she was doing....

My guess is she was consulting the employee manual for coupon rules - but is that classified info?

I used a "free Cheerios" coupon from Pampers last week and the lady looked at it forever and eventually called over another cashier to verify it was okay. She's like, they are usually a darker color gray. Then she said they have been getting a lot of fraudulent coupons lately. Probably didn't help that I had 10+ B&W IPs too. I felt pretty embarrassed though and felt bad because the line behind me was really starting to build up

Oh, yeah, I had written the amount of the cereal on the free coupon--to make it easier for her--and it made her question it even more. She said these don't usually come with the amount written on them. I'm like yeah, I did that...:shrug7:

Anyway, maybe they're getting a lot of bad Qs and trying to just be cautious because of that.

They were probably checking against a list of "known" bad coupons and/or a list of known problem bad check casher types. Doesn't matter. She took them, they were legit, don't worry about it.

Someone I know who was a cashier used to commit serious coupon fraud and would write down the products people bought and then put coupons in her drawer for them and take the money out of the coupon.... but that wouldn't work since you were using the coupons so I don't know.

Hey I am impressed - 40 coupons at Cub. I thought I was doing a good job but you have raised the bar for me. I just found this site and love reading all the great posts here!
