Default TP question

I'm not a newbie when it comes to coupons and shopping. I've done this for years. But I'd really like to know how you get free toilet paper, shampoo, etc. I've got 2 teenagers, have showed them how to shop for sales, coupons, etc, but I haven't been able to get free TP or paper towels. Please show me how to do that!

Is there a Kroger in your area? Cottonelle TP is normally 0.99 - 1.19 depending on your location. Right now there are $0.50 qs and Kroger doubles, so you can get cheap or free TP. Then if you look at Cellfire or Shortcuts, they often have qs that link up to your Kroger card and sometimes they will come off your total along with the physical qs. When that happens you actually make money!

Paper towels are a little tougher for me, maybe someone else will have suggestions. I just got some at Target at their after Christmas sale. They have little ornaments on them but were 1/2 price plus my coupons. Not free but a good deal.

Shampoo is free a lot! If there's a Walgreens near you, starting this Sunday Garnier Fructis shampoo will be on sale for $2.99. There's an in-store coupon (in the EasySaver catalog) for $2 off, and $1 off insert coupons. So it will be free! CVS and Walgreens are good for free HBA pretty often.

The key to free anything is to combine a coupon with a sale. Right now my store has Poptarts on sale for $1.88 a box. Some boxes have peel off coupons on them for $1 off. That brings my box down to .88. Then I've got some catalinas (the ones that print out at the register) for $1 off every 2 boxes of poptarts, so that means .50 to each box, and whamo- .33 poptarts. This weekend they're on sale for .99. If I can find some with the $1 off peelies, that's free.

Scott tissue definetly has coupons and definetly has sales. Just a matter of matching the two up in the right combination at the right store to get the price down to zero or close to it.

If you dont mind me asking what does a septic tank have to do with toilet paper?
On the other note... If you do have a Krogers you can go online and sign up for Cellfire.com, Shortcuts.com, and another to load coupons onto your Kroger card.
Hope this helps

Some TP doesn't 'perk' as well in the septic tank. ( for lack of good plumbing terms) It will clog up tank faster. For us Angel Soft is the best. I tired Scott, but it didn't seem as 'rear' friendly, but the spetic tank liked it ok. The Cottonelle that I have been able to get for free on the Kroger deal listed above.... well not so tank friendly, but I think it has as much to do with family still likes to use the same length of TP per 'transaction' as they do the cheap and it's thicker and really you can use less....

Honestly, I don't believe that ANY tp will bother a septic tank- I've lived with then my whole life. My mom used Charmin. Never had a problem. We've lived in the same house for almost 20 years and I've used Charmin 90% of the time and we've never even needed to have ours pumped, let alone had any problems- even raising 2 boys!

I have a septic tank and have no problems with different TP.

Regarding the freebies, matching MQ coupons with store coupons is the way to go. For shampoo, I will be getting 30 bottles free over the next week. This way I can replenish my Stockpile as I was down to 5. Also, you have to be ready to get the deals when they go on sale. For instance CVS and Wags post there sales adds weeks in advance, you can look ahead and prepare yourself for what is coming. Then check your coupons for those items and if you see something you would use but don't have coupons, then start to trading. HCW, has a great TNT (trader in trading) area that can help you learn how to trade. Before you know you will be getting free items to.
