Kansas is between 7.5%-9% depending on what city/county you are in on EVERYTHING YOU PURCHASE INCLUDING ALL FOOD. And everything is taxed pre coupon so no getting something for completely free here.

If you hop on over the border to Missouri (which many of us do) you pay 4-6% depending on what county your in..and they tax most food under 2%.

Gas is also cheaper in Missouri vs Kansas (tax wise and in general) and In Missouri they tax post coupon. So you can get things absolutely free there.

That is a nice benefit! Everything in NC is pre-coupon for sales tax configurations And 7.75% on all non food and snacks, soft drinks, etc ads up in a hurry too. But I'll take a 92% savings every chance I can

Coupons are found money - who walks by money on the ground??

I love getting stuff for completely free!!! but will mostly have to settle for nearly free for a while because all my completely free shopping was in Joplin Missouri.

Im not sure what the rules are for PA but I got taxed on one of the purchases I made last week (Revlon nail polish) but didn't get taxed on the 5 subsequent purchases I made on the same product, which i'm guessing is because they tax you post coupons here too and the first purchase I made in cash, to get the bucks on my CVS card, whereas the following 5 were purchased with the CVS card and coupon so no tax! Which I thought was awesome :)

I'm headed to DC next month but will be taking along my own food for the simple fact that TX has no sale tax on most food. I remember visiting my mother in AL back in the mid '70's and having to pay tax on a loaf of bread, I was absolutely astounded to say the least. One of the main reasons I still live in TX, the other main reason is no state income tax.
