Thanks I live near houston so there are a ton of resturants some of the limitations seemed extreem but if it is a minimum before the GC then I think I can meet it. As far as the 18% goes I guess it is a way for the waiters to insure they get their tip.

If they did not do that, some people would tip on the amount after the coupon was deducted.

i just bought $25 certificate and just paid $2 after the q however I am not sure if it was a good bargain? First of all i need to print the certificate but i am not sure how does a restarant verify thr authenticity cuz it looke like it can be reprinted:shrug7:

and also most of them say that valid for prchases over $35, so can I use more than 1 certificate at a time or do I need to pay the rest in the restaurant after I order?

Hi
They all have codes and you have to present the cert before you eat. Then they call it in and verify. That way it can't be used more than once.

As far as I know none of the restaurants will let you use more than one restaurant.com cert at a time. So if you have a $25 and the minimum food order is $35, you will need to cover the $10 difference when you eat. Usually alcohol and taxes are excluded. Tip is tacked on ahead but I don't think that counts as part of your $35 min.

Also wanted to mention, buy your certs through ebates or mypoints and get a little back, though it's not much on the $2, it will add up after time.

I must be the only one who doesn't have a good success rate with these. Most of the restaurants in my area are minimum purchase $100 (for a $50 certificate) and there really aren't any restaurants we like that well on the list. Plus, we used two of these at two different places and both times we were treated like thieves who were trying to get something for nothing. It's a great deal for those who can use them successfully, but I find all the restrictions (only good on certain days, no specials, must reach a certain $$ amount in order to use, restaurant only has to accept a certain number of these per month) to be too restrictive for us to use.

Oh that stinks Sarah
I have a friend from here who I meet up with everyonce in a while and we usually use one of these. we both use them on our own too and I've yet to have one problem. I guess if you bought one and had a problem redeeming it, you could contact restaurant.com and complain. You can see all the restrictions before you buy so just avoid the ones that are really restrictive. If I'm going out to eat, i am going to spend $50-$100 for two people anyway so i am usually ok

Ok, you guys have inspired me. I tried it again with a newly added restaurant that we do eat at. $35 minimum which will be no problem for us.
