Funstuff Favorite Deal of 2008

Let's hear it--what was your favorite deal of 2008?

Mine was the one Walgreen's double dip day, I think it was July. The one with the free/MM diaper deal. I just wish I had gotten more.

There were so many good deals this year but I think my favorite would have to be the various Glade catalina promos. In most cases the items themselves were free with coupons and you got the catalina to spend on anything you needed. Just last night I used $22 in catalinas at ShopRite from the Glade Scented Oil candle deal to stock up on cat food. I got an 18lb bag of Friskies and 36 cans of 9Lives for free!

I only started in October, but I'm really happy about the BIC soleils I got for free, now I wont have to pay for razors probably ever again.... now if I could just get stocked up on men's razors..... I scored a few, but they probably won't last long :)

Oooh, I thought of another one--the rolling Kellogg's catalina at Acme, back in the spring. I think some were rolling it at Kmart too, but mine was at Acme. Lots of free cereal.

I would have to say the best MM for me was the Glade air fresheners when there were B1G1F coupons out and a $4 catalina printed for each one - so I basically made about $2 for everyone I bought and this catalina deal went on for a long time and was at multiple stores. I probably made $200-$300 on this deal. But most of it will go in my MILs garage sale - I rarely use are fresheners. My favorite free was the Cottonelle toilet paper and at times I even made a little money on this deal (with money off your order when you buy so many). I have enough toilet paper to last 4 years - I have every bathroom vanity cabinet stuffed full (and I have 4 bathrooms), an entire closet, and I even had to start putting some in the attic. I put it back behind the holiday boxes but DH discovered the stash the other day. I can rarely get toilet paper free, it is a necessity, and it doesn't go bad so I figured the more I could get the better.

I agree with the OP, the walgreens diapers were a score! I still have tons left. The Robitussion was great too, 3 bucks for 3 bottles, get 10 bucks back... come to think of it.. Walgreens paid me a ton of money to shop there, and I just started in July!!

My favorite deal was the WAG RR Benefiber deal a couple months ago. I spent a little over $3 OOP for three Stick Pack boxes and got an $8 RR. Nice moneymaker. Woot!

I was also loving all the overage on Pert at WAG and Winn Dixie.

Way too many to pick one!

~ Free Ragu sauce pouches at Giant Eagle - I started with 50!
~ Free Lindt Excellence chocolate bars at GE ~ have made holiday goodies, spoons dipped in chocolate as part of DD's teacher's gift, etc.
~ 29c Dove Cream Oil body wash at Kmart during Double Coupon Days - I have about 10! Body wash was something I'd never been able to find a fabulous deal on before.
~ Free Gillette mens shampoo, also at Kmart during Double Days - I think I "bought" about 15?
~ Free L'oreal kids' shampoos at Giant Eagle - my kids are stocked for a loooong time! I have about 15 right now.
~ Free Dial hand soap pumps at Giant Eagle - have about 10.
~ 14c for Huggies Clean Team wipes at Walmart - I stocked up during the year when the $3/2 coupons were out 2 different times. I gave my sister 20 packs, and still have 38. I bet I bought about 100.
~ Various laundry detergent deals through the year - I currently have about 12 full-size bottles stocked.
~ Morningstar veggie products at Target - they were less than 50c a box, I believe, when combining Target coupons and manufacturer coupons. We were able to try lots of varieties like soy dogs, Chik'n nuggets, Chik'n patties, soy "bacon", "sausage" patties, etc.

~ Tons of great garage sales and secondhand deals - I've fully stocked our children's wardrobes for $1 or less each item of clothing, found 10 maternity shirts for $1 apiece, etc.

This has been an awesome year!!
