| Re: Favorite Deal of 2008 Hmm, very good question!
There have been many great deals this year.
Here are few that stand out in my mind:
-- the free hair dryer at wags is mint. I love it.
-- the thousands of dollars of free after rebate stuff I got at walgreens and riteaid and rebates - many of them with profit by using a Q
-- the Gift of Savings at Riteaid. $20 free gift certificates for picking through the garbage!
-- Acme is a surprise noteable: The closets of free cereal, super cheap diced tomatoes, chex mix, popcorn, and free Ragu with the rolling catalina deals. Acme steps up!
-- all that free thin-as-air Marcal tp with those great Q
-- boxes of free Powerade and Joint Juice
-- a freezer full of Steamfresh veggies from Shoprite - finally something free that is healthy!
-- a freezer full of pumpkin puree from pumpkins I picked out of garbages and from nice people of freecycle.org. mmmm....pumpkin pies coming up!
-- a fridge full of free hummus. I am still eating that stuff
-- a fridge full of free sour cream. I finally finished the last one!
-- a fridge full of free guacomole
-- I vaguely remember more free yogurt than any person should eat toward the beggining of the year.
-- an entire closet of free Pantene travel size from Walgreens.
-- lots and lots of free fiber pasta
-- can anyone say free gum at Walgreens?
There are too many to choose. I love them all. If you force me to pick, I guess I will say the free veggies, just because it is rare to find freebies that are healthy, the free sauce at Acme (I love tomato sauce), and the free $20 Riteaid shopping spree. |

| Re: Favorite Deal of 2008 I really like the Walgreen's Robitussin deal. I got so many 10.00 RR's that I was able to buy most Christmas presents there - Subway giftcards, toys for my son, hand held wet/dry vacs, and tons more. I ended up with over $200.00 RR because of the deal.
The second sweet deal would have to be the Walgreens brand diaper deal. I did this one way too much too (if there is such a thing).
Tallk about two big money makers. And to top it off, these were sold at my garage sale so I made an even bigger profit. |

| Re: Favorite Deal of 2008 I know it is a regional store, but Meijer has been very good to me this year...
- Buy 3 meijer brand HBA get $5 cat...made LOTS of "money" on that last January
- Kellogg's deal...don't remember exactly, but I would buy 6 and get $10 cat and $2 in gas rewards.
- Many other random deals...pillsbury rolls, veggies, etc. Lost a lot of it in the power outage in September (thanks Ike )--still good deals.
- Glade, Glade, Glade (this was everywhere, all the glade has made me a very happy girl)...
So, the award for the best deal goes to Meijer as a whole
I agree the Target wipe deal was good, along with Kmart SuperDoubles...
OH, and was the CVS perfum unadvertised 90% off in 2008? That was good too.
so, Here's to 2009! May it be the same, if not better than the last! |

| Re: Favorite Deal of 2008 This is a great thread! Let me see....
A lot of my favorite deals are ones that introduced me to items I never would have bought before couponing: Grocery stores:
Deli Creations Sandwiches were 2/$4: with a $1 coupon, only 1 dollar, now my family loves these
Sara Lee Soft & Smooth bread: FREE coupon, because I can use expireds, I'm still getting free bread!
Glade Flameless Wisp candle (started this at Jewel) buy one, get $3 off next order, I used this with the BOGO printable and I get these at Walgreens for rebates
I liked the free Kraft wyb Kraft items, i can still use these too! Walgreens:
Nivea Body Wash for men: FREE after rebate, my guy tried this and loved it! He loves to take showers now! CVS:
L'Oreal Age Perfect Pro Calcium: FREE after ECBS, I bought this for my mom and she loves it for her hands, keeps them smooth
Benefiber stick packs: FREE after ECBs last week (love them!), now I'm going to get them again this week and at Walgreens next week
All the BIC Soleil ECB deals (especially the FREE after ECB on Black Friday), I have enough for 3 years Kmart:
Super Doubles, got Gillette Body Wash for free, Welch's sparking grape juice and big boxes of cereal for .50
Thanks for the chance to look back, I feel 2009 will be even better!
