IMO you could put a lot more in an everyday purse than a binder. it seems ridiculous to me.
you can put small things in your jeans pockets too, but you dont see them telling everyone to leave their pants outside, do you?
sorry. I had to.... :)
Has anyone ever got in trouble for bring their coupon binder into a store with them?
I usually just bring an envelope with the coupons I'm going to use, but today I brought my binder in the store. I went to Kmart today because of super doubles week. I walked in the store, and was greeted very friendly and I was carrying my binder. I'm looking around in the cleaning isle, and a worker comes up to me, she was stocking in the isle, and she ask me what was in the binder and that I cannot have that whole binder in the store of personal stuff. It looks suspicious. I told her to get the manager and see if it was ok for me to have it in there. I talked to the manager, and he said there was not a rule aganist having the binders in the store, but you can hide small things in there. He wasn't to supportive of me having it in his store. I left the cart, and walked out of the store.

I don't take mine very often, but when I do, I don't have any trouble. I set mine open near the handle of the cart and flip through pages as I need. Managers and workers have seen me and often come up to me to inquire. I just tell them that they are coupons. Sometimes they are amazed about how many. Some have also told me how good it is of me to save money. "Every penny counts".
I can't imagine that someone that goes through all the trouble of clipping and sorting coupons would actually take said coupon binder into the store and "steal" something from them. I wonder if that manager ever thought of it that way? Duh!:shrug7:
It is true however, that sometimes using coupons will have the store actually pay us to take stuff from them. I think that is sooooo much better than stealing.![]()
Weeeee!
That's crazy - the only problem I have ever had is that they think I work as a product rep and want me to sign in - I have to explain that I am just a "regular" shopper (well, not really, but...)
Wow! I've never had a problem, but it sounds like you have to be ready for anything. The stories I'm hearing lately. Soon they will just flat out ban couponers!
I have been having the same feeling, yikes!

I wonder if they thought you were a secret shopper (in which case, they're getting a bad review) or something like that. You were taking notes on their displays. They get fussy about stuff like that, though I have no idea why.
What a snotty attitude to have. There is no reason why you can't bring that in. You can hide things anywhere on your body or off. I was with loss prev. when Builders Square was around and believe me pp find the oddest places to hide things. I wouldn't worry about a Q binder.

That is absolutely absurd! I don't know if you have a small child or anything else that you normally may take in the store with you but here's how it works for me....
I try to find a cart in the parking lot BEFORE I go into the store because I usually have, in the cart, my youngest daughter sitting in the child part, my purse, my binder and her "diaper" bag.
Maybe I have just been lucky but no one has ever mentioned anything to me. Maybe they just think, "Poor lady, carriyng around all of that STUFF!"
I totally agree that's pathetic and ridiculous, and I'm surprised they said something to you! But, in a store like KMart, I'm sure they're very used to shoplifters too.![]()
