ok, so today i pointed out to the shopper next to me that the smaller pkgs of chicken breasts were priced at 1.74# and the larger one she had in her hand were priced at 2.09#. she picked up the smaller pkg to see how many breasts were in there, then bought the larger pkgs anyway....??????

Yep. Mom recently sent a TMF coupon (not mir) to her sister.
For something she regualrly uses. Coupon was good for like another 3 months.
Sister threw it out because "I don't need that this week" Then bought it the very next week because she did need it then. And doesn't see why my mom gets nuts.....
With people like that, I'm the coupon ****. "No Coupons For You!"
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but in alphabetical order, as it should be.
I hear you! A good friend of mine said that she refuses to do coupons. I didn't even bother to ask why. I guess she is too rich to cut and clip, but I will have more in my savings and I know I have more in my pantry for hurricanes too. :D
One of my friends doesn't collect coupons because she admits she always forgets to bring them. (The poor woman forgets everything - her car keys, her purse, her wallet, her glasses...) She's said outright she'd love to use them, but no matter how many times she tries she can never remember to bring them or use them.
Then there's someone else I know (who's not really a friend anyway, she's kind of a somethingiwontsay) who actually refuses to use them, because 'I'm not broke all the time like you.' Thanks, my household income is almost $60k a year. I'm not broke anymore, and I'll still use em!
OP...I think your shopper is related to one that I talked to a couple of weeks ago. I was picking up a couple of boxes of Betty Crocker fruit snacks, which were on sale for $1.79 each (I had $1/1 coupons too!!). Another shopper was trying to decide which Kellogg's fruit snacks to buy, and she started talking to me. She said she couldn't believe how much fruit snacks cost, and was sooooo glad these were on sale. So I mentioned that the Betty Crocker were also on sale, and were only $1.79. She looked at me like I had beans growing out of my ears, and said, "Yes. I saw that. But the Kellogg's are FIVE for $10! That's a better buy!"
I was speechless!!
^LOL. Some people see the 5/10 and automatically think it's a better deal. That's why stores do it in the first place, to con people into thinking the numbers vs/ the actual price is better. That Kelloggs woman is a real idiot though!

Yup, I get the "My time is money" argument..... What?!? Yeah. so is mine. And for every hour I spend clipping and organizing coupons I am saving big bucks. So, I guess my time is just worth more.
Raj: I don't like bugs, okay? They freak me out.
Sheldon: Interesting. You're afraid of insects and women. Ladybugs must render you catatonic.
