How often do you clip?

Hey!
I know people get ads from varying places at varying times, I am curious how often you sit down and clip.

I get mine from my MIL. She gets two sets (sometimes 3) and gives them to me. Sometimes I get them from her for one week, sometimes I don't see her for 3-4 weeks and I get quite a load at once.

It then takes me HOURS to sit and cut a months worth of ads (LOL!).

Ohhhh, I need to make an effort to pick them up more often, but it's my MIL, you know how that goes....

Do you guys do this every week? Or does it vary like me?

I do once a week

I take 10 inserts at once.. the kids and I sort and staple.. well I, only I staple LOL

then I set them aside and cut while doing something else.. toss the cuts in a zipper bag.. takes no time at all..

but it took me 2 years to figure that out LOL

geeesh... I would love to figure out a good way to do it as well...

I always have a minimum of 10 papers each week, so I seperate the inserts, and take out all of one kind, and clip away while watching tv...It sometimes takes me atleast 3 or so days to catch up and clip them all...

I am very orgnized with the binder method, so once they are clipped, its easy to store...

but yeah, I am clipping on and off throughout the day for atleast 3 days a week

Sunday afternoon is my clipping/filing time. If the inserts are good, I send my husband to either the donut shop or the dollar store to get extras (both sell the Sunday paper for a dollar). Then, I spread them out on the table, page by page, making stacks, so that I only have to cut each coupon once. Then (here's the important part!!), I get something cold to drink, and take the stack of inserts, a plastic shoe box and a bag for trash, to the sofa. Grab the remote, and find some type of sporting event to watch while I clip. The q's go in the box...the remnants go in the bag (which goes to the recycle bin when I'm done.) When I'm done with that, I get my "go to the store" box, and my "trade" box, and file the q's that I just clipped.

I'm kind of over-organized when it comes to my coupons. If they're not clipped and filed on Sunday, I feel like I'm wayyyyyy behind on Monday morning!!

For the most part, I only clip the coupons when I need them.

I only get the ones that come in my paper so I usually do it that day or the next .

i sort and staple my coupons every week, cutting out the ones i KNOW i am going to use and filing those first, then i may cut the rest out that day, or the next day, or a few days later (cause sometimes i just dont even wanna look at the coupons) but for my scatterbrained mind, this system works for me

I usually get three inserts each week. If you get more, and you want to clip them all, you could do them three or four at a time...

I grab page one of all three inserts, stick them together, and cut out the coupons. Flip it over, check for more coupons, cut those out. All three stay together, and it cuts (HAR HAR HAR) my cutting time by two-thirds. Repeat this for each page, and all I have to do is type them up (thank GOD for Stargate DVDs or I'd lose my mind) and file them in my index card thingy.
