HELP Lowest price you pay for meat....

Uber newbie here. I was wondering what ya'll consider to be great prices for all cuts of beef, chicken and pork. Even your lowest prices for hot dogs, lunchmeats and sausages would be great!!!

I'm trying to wrap my head around stockpiling meats and whatnot.:hectic1:

My super 1 is running a $1.58/lb on ground beef - do you think that's a great price???:shrug7:

I'd sure appreciate any hints or helpful tips!!!

I sure do love all these smilies!!!
Please help me with my idiotic questions - I'm a NEWBIE!!

I'll flip this by telling you the most I'll pay, if that makes sense. To preface though, prices in different parts of the country can vary A LOT. If you're used to paying $3/lb for ground beef, then $1.58 is a great price for you. You're not competing with anyone but your bank account, so figure out what YOUR best price is compared to what you've been paying. It's sure to go down as you gain experience.

    For me -
    B/S chicken - $1.99/lb
    Ground beef - $1/lb
    Chicken quarters - $0.59/lb
    Bone-in pork chops - $1/lb
    Steak - $3/lb
    Bacon - $1.50/lb
    Pork shoulder - $0.99/lb
    Sausage - $1/lb

I really need to get that price book going!!!!

i have tried NUMEROUS times to get a "workable" (for me anyways) way of doing a price book............its almost easier to just save my grocery lists in a notebook(one page per trip) in which i write the sale/regular price down at the store while shopping........i end up with the shelf price totaled at the register, and then my coupon total and my savings written down :) thats the best i can do for a price book

as to prices on meats~~~i only have a regular size freezer so i do have to pay more because i dont have the space, but i save so much everywhere else, that its ok (kinda ok-----but these are workable/useable prices for me)
boneless skinless chicken:2.59 (i prefer to get it at 1.77 but thats not one i get very often)
salmon:1.25 a serving(i buy the frozen, preportioned peices because its the only way i can portion salmon for myself without breaking out in hives----i like seafood but it doesnt like me back)
ground beef:3.50 is AWESOME----but i also only buy 93% lean hamburger, so 4.99 is my regular price
potroast: i dont know the "exact cost" beause i always buy 2 on bogo, aiming for 2/14.00 or less (more then 2, and i feel like ive gone into a "cooking rut" before they go bogo again)
lunch meat from the deli counter:3.99 a pound (sometimes i can get it for less, but its usually 5.99 a pound so 2.00 saved a pound is workable for me)
lunch meat in the cold aisle:i wont pay MORE then 1.99 a package and i better get lunch for 4 days out of it
petite sirloin steak:3.99 a pound (we use it for stirfrys and for fajitas, and i make them so i want GOOD steak in them---its usually 4.99-5.59 a pound)
ground turkey(frozen)1.25 a pound---use just like hamburger, season with beef bulion
    sausage:1.50 a pound----but i have and i will pay 2.50
    bacon:2.79 a pound----sometimes we get it for 1.79 a pound BUT
i only really like one kind of bacon(thornapple valley brand) and only winco carries it here, so i have to pay thier price for it (2.79)

and i know we eat other stuff, but im sleepy and cant remember what else we eat

Gosh, I'd like to pay those prices on meat too!

I can get B/S chicken breasts for $1.79 a lb. Sirloin steaks 2.99/lb. (doesnt happen very often though), hamburger $1.59/lb., Bacon 12 oz. pkg. $1.50/lb., Sausage $1.49/lb. usually I pay $2.00 lb. though, Pork Chops bone in $1.89/lb., Eye round Roast $2.29 lb., Italian Sausage $1.99 5 pieces to a pkg., Oh! and I paid the least for bone in Chicken breasts last week that I have ever paid~.79 cents a pound!!

All these are sale prices of course. Good luck to you!
