Thumbs Up How does couponing affect going green?

Hey I just thought I'd get to know some of you.

These questions are just out of curiosity, as a fellow couponer and green enthusiast.

1) Do you recycle at home?

2) Where do you get your coupons for natural and organic products?

3) (Brag!) What is the best steal you have gotten on an otherwise pricey natural/organic item?

4) If you saw an item on deep clearance or free with coupon, but it had a lot of preservatives/artificial ingredients or was bad for the environment (eg: styrofoam products) would you still purchase or take advantage of the offer?

5) Whole Foods or Trader Joe's? pick one.

6) Do you grow any veggies at home?

Have fun!

1) Do you recycle at home?
Everything I can.

2) Where do you get your coupons for natural and organic products?
By writing the companies myself (a complimenting letter does the trick), and checking out the MamboSprouts booklet.

3) (Brag!) What is the best steal you have gotten on an otherwise pricey natural/organic item?
The Stonyfield Farm yogurt I got for .33 a piece.
Whole Foods clearance (2/$1 + .50/3 mfg. coupon) But that may sound like a n00b deal to some more experienced shoppers!

4) If you saw an item on deep clearance or free with coupon, but it had a lot of preservatives/artificial ingredients or was bad for the environment (eg: styrofoam products) would you still purchase or take advantage of the offer?
Can't say I would.

5) Whole Foods or Trader Joe's? pick one.
Whole Foods, for their store brand selections, and their wide selection of (couponable!) national brands.

6) Do you grow any veggies at home?
Tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, green beans, peppers

WORLD GLOBE Re: How does couponing affect going green?

I recycle almost every piece of trash we have! We recently got new recycle bins, they're just as big as our 96 gallon trash can! Now I recycle EVERYTHING! Cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, cat food cans, every scrap of paper. I even have DH on board. Each week we have more recycle than garbage. It makes me feel good knowing we aren't throwing so much away to the land fill. We live in California, but I'm worried when we move to Arkansas we won't have the same kind of services available to us!

We also grow our own tomatoes, corn, and yellow squash. DD eats our tomatoes like apples! Just walks over, picks one and bites into it! Yum, nothing tastes like homegrown tomatoes!! This year we planted an artichoke plant, but we won't see any chokes for a couple years.

1. Yes

2. I trade them here! Plus, I write all my favorite companies and about 95% of them have sent me coupons.

3. I recently got 10 bottles of Santa Cruz Organic for .24 cents each

4. It depends on what it was. If we had family coming and they could use it I might. Usually I don't buy things like that though.

5. I don't have a Whole Foods yet. It is coming soon though, and I am excited! So Trader Joes for now.

6. Planted for the first time this year - tomatoes, zucchini and squash
