I got close to 50 jars of Skippy last fall free with triples, and thought 30 would be enough to last us, so we donated 20 of them to the food pantry. By June, we were down to 6 jars left, so I got another 10 jars at free and 20 for .25 each.

Two weeks ago we had the rolling catalina on Peter Pan, so I got close to 40 jars free. I am awaiting the Skippy deals, and was disappointed that the coupons are much lower now.

Preteen kids will eat a jar a week easily, and if I want some on a bagel it goes even faster.

My youngest likes to make what she likes to call "Elvis' favorite" , that is a peanut butter and banana sandwich. These are pretty good, but have to be eaten fresh, not packed in a lunch pail.

I just bought 60 Skippy today and I paid a dollar for it. I am going to give all to food pantry since I don't eat peanut butter.

I've paid as low as .10c a jar for the 18z standard jar - can't see spending more than .50c. Learned this year the kids don't like chunky PB, so I will skip that. We had about 50 jars, plus some from the last time it was on sale, and we are down to about 12-20 left.

I paid .30 for five jars of Skippy today...my best deal ever! :) Personally, I LOVE Jif (it DOES taste more like fresh roasted peanuts, lol!) but since my coupon conversion, I go with the best deal.

BTW...was Jif peanut butter ever called 'Jiffy' or am I confusing it with 'Skippy'?

So does Jif ever go on sale? Because that's what I want and it's the only kind I'll buy. No point in me getting other kinds since I don't like them and won't eat them. *grin*

I'm just wondering if I'll have to keep buying it on a one by one basis.

It goes on sale around here (RI). The cheapest I've ever seen it is .99 but that kind of sale is few and far between...I think 2/$3 or 1.99 happens every so often.

Bummer. Oh well. We don't go through tons of it, so I guess it's ok. :)

This is a popular mix-up. Jiffy is the brand of corn muffin mix, as well as the popcorn.

If you think you can taste the difference between brands, wait a day or two without eating anything else - get yourself really hungry - and you won't be able to distinguish any of them.

Wow ! Some impressive bottom line prices! Anyone ever create a spreadsheet with their "bottom line" prices? It would be interesting to get one started!
