Default Re: It's all about the bottom line! What is your best price?

Whole chicken- $.69 lb.
Chicken breasts- $1.69
Ground Beef- $1.69
Corned Beef-$.99 lb.
Laundry Detergent- I aim for $2.00 or less
Cereal- $1.00 or less a box
Chips and snack foods- $1.00 bag or less
Almost all personal care items FREE by CVS and Walmart.
Cat food and litter- $1.00 or less

I try to get hams for the year around Easter or Christmas. Of course fresh fruit and veggies always in season.

Apples- $.69/.89 lb
Bananas- $.39/.49 lb
Baby Carrots- 99 cents bag

Just some of my pricing. I am not such a seasoned expert couponer like others. Plus some of my stores tend to be on the higher side then other areas.

Please help, my local store has Velveeta bricks on sale for $3.99. After $1.00 q that would make them $2.99. Is that a good price or has anyone seen it cheaper? TIA

About the Velveeta. Last month, my store had them 2/$7, so, $3.99 might be the best you're going to do for a while. With a Q, you're paying $3 for a pound. That doesn't sound too bad to me.

Let's see... non free items... really that's just food... all our HBA are free.

Kraft Cheese Slices $1.00 for 12-16oz.
Kraft Easy Mac Cups $.25 each
Dole Canned Fruit $.30 each
*Diapers are usually free in my eyes as I use Wags RRs that I got for usually nothing to buy them.
Milk: $1.00 for name brand half gallon
Deli Meat: $1/lb. (I can get all other meats, e.g. chicken, ground beef, for free)
Bread $.88
Butter: $1.29 without Q, without sale. Picky on the brand
Mission Tortillas: $.27
Mission Spinach Wraps: $1.69
Kashi Frozen Entrees $.75
Morningstar Crumbles $.97
Taco shells: $.50 for 12-18pk
Kraft Mayonnaise: $1.40 for 18oz squeezable
Pickles: $2.00 for Claussen
Laundry Detergent: Uhm, I can't remember, I haven't had to buy it in almost a year from my stockpiling Use Wags RRs though...
Scoopable Cat Litter: $2.00 for 28lb.

We are brand snobs a lot... I really prefer non-store brands and convenience in the items that I'm going to have to pay for at all. E.g. Squeezable mayo - pickle or butter brands - mission wraps... kraft cheese slices vs. store brand - etc.

My issue is finding prepackaged foods on sale on a miniscule budget. I work for a food kitchen and I need to know good prices for things like Hamburger helper, instant potatoes, evaporated milk, muffin mix, basically Thanksgiving type food. We are given a list of foods and about $100 to use it on. I got Hamburger helper today for 3/$2.25 and I have no idea if that was a good deal or not. If anyone has a basic price list on these things or could help me out it would be great.
