| Re: It's all about the bottom line! What is your best price? Has anyone gotten toilet paper FREE after double coupons (not MIR)? If so, what brand, what store, and in what part of the country? I thought this post might help some others.
My only free tp deal, has been at Giant(PA)/Martin's. I have done it twice so far, and they are offering it again, starting 7/8!!! I wish I had some more Q's! There are .50 blinkies above the display this week, too, making those .50 for a 4-pack.
DH really prefers the Scott 1000, but I never get them as cheap, or free, but they last longer.
I'm not brand loyal, as much as FREE really gets my attention.
Has anyone gotten any other brands for free, excluding MIRs? If so, what other brands/store/state, etc. |

| Re: It's all about the bottom line! What is your best price? I'm not familiar w/ the three stores you named. The only time I find a good deal at Target is when I see it posted on HCW. Pretty much the same w/ WalMart, as I avoid it like the plague, unless I see a good deal posted at HCW, that I just have to have. lol.
Do your grocery stores ever have 5/$5 or 10/$10 sales, w/ name brand products? When you see that your store is going to have one, start matching up your coupons. If you have an Q that is .50, and your store doubles; a 10/$10 sale will make the item free. So far, I have gotten these items free, after double coupons, when combined w/ a 10/$10 sale; Scott Extra Soft TP, RedPack Tomatoes, SuperPretzels, Aquafresh & Colgate. Probably some others, but I can't think of any right now. Most items I get are .30-.50 after coupons. |

| Re: It's all about the bottom line! What is your best price? Thanks to learning the ways of couponing due to this site, I no longer pay for toothbrushes or toothpaste, BBQ sauce, hair dye, sometimes aspirin, sometimes TP, I pay .50-1.00 for shampoo/conditioner, hair care products, .50-1.00 for cereal, .50 per box Hamburger Helper, less than 2.00 for 12 packs of soda, free candies, free or next to nothing for cat/dog food.
I'm sure there are a ton of other things I'm spacing out on right now, but there's an idea anyway....I shop Albertson's, Safeway, Walgreen's, and very, very rarely shop Walmart, (and have saved a ton by not shopping there much anymore). Oh yeah, sometimes Rite-Aid. |

| What would you pay for it? **Thanks MOD for moving this to the correct thread**
Ok, I'm not so new now, I have been at this for just about 2 months, and just like you said it would happen, I am amazed by what i will pay for something now as opposed to what I use to pay. But I'm curious... what is your max price? I know alot of you will not 'buy' shampoo and toothpaste (stock up when it's free). I still think saving 75% over what I use to spend good.
Here is my list of curiosities...I've seen them in your stockpile pictures, so there must be some deals on these products I haven't seen yet (I've looked at the sales cycle thread - I'm excited for the upcoming months)
shampoo
toothpaste
deodorant
toilet paper
paper towel
laundry soap
cereal
spegetti sauce
peanut butter
ketchup
...and anything else you find that you usually stock up on at some point

| Re: What would you pay for it? I've only been doing this seriously for a couple of months, but all of the above items I've gotten for free or just a few cents. Mostly, the HBA items are free with rolling RR; peanut butter, papertowels and laundry detergent has been purchased with overages on other deals; and ketchup is free when my store has them 10/10 with doubled .50 coupons. Toothpaste is the same. Right now, Piggly Wiggly has Ragu spaghetti sauce for .98 and will double one coupon, so I've made several trips and get 2 each time with a .50/2 (doubled to $1), so I'm getting it 2 for $1.00. Cereal- get it on sale, use coupons, and do the rebates. There's another new one out this week for Kellogg's. Hopefully you got the Walgreens RR on Kellogg's a couple weeks ago! Free is always what I strive for, but right now anything under $1 is good. HTH |
