toothpaste
toothbrushes
deodorant
pasta
air freshener

I won't pay more than .50 for a box of cereal, and even then it bugs me...I can get cereal for free (often with overage) before school starts, but it isn't generally the kind of cereal I like. Since DH will eat anything, and I can give it away I get lots...but I've not been able to get a good deal on my beloved Frosted Flakes, and I can't force myself to buy them even at $1.25 a box.
So I don't eat them. Pathetic!!

i've made a spreadsheet based on posts in this thread and some of my own bottom line prices.

this might be a good tool for newbies and pros alike ?

please provide feedback on what items i should add, how to make it better or fill in some of the missing info.

thanks!!

well the graphic got lost somehow. it's now a google doc :)

OK, I've been couponing on and off for years. I am pretty good at it, and these are the things I almost always get for free:
Toothpaste
Hair products - gel, mousse, etc.
Deoderant
Dog Food
Body wash (with ECBs)

These are the things that I have a VERY LOW bottom line on:
Shampoo - .50-$1.00 a bottle (RARELY get it free)
Razors - $1.99 - 4 pack (sad, I know)
Cereal - 50c (just got 65 boxes of this)
Soap - 10c-15c a bar
Chicken noodle soup - 39c (off brand)
After Shave - 25c (last bunch I got 41C overage on each one!)

Some of you I envy:
Flour 25c/5 lb???? I thought 3.50 for 25 lb was good
Toilet paper for free??? no good deals here.

Forgive me, I have Q-envy!
shampoo for free

I got toilet paper today for 24 cents a double roll. Not to shabby for me, but then some of you get if for nothing. Oh, and I got $5 ECB at the same time, which made it even better.

Default What is the best price you've ever paid for...

items like these, EXCLUDING FREEs?
I realize prices will vary, but am trying to guage myself, on how well I'm doing, in comparison.

Kraft Miracle Whip
Kraft Parmesan Cheese
Vlassic Pickles
Manwich
Paper Towels

and any others you may wish to contribute.

Thanks to the people in the CVS forum, I've learned to get my toothpaste, and toothbrushes for free, and I've gotten FREE razors. It seems just when I don't think I'll find cereal any cheaper, and buy it...then I find it cheaper.

I'm trying to find better ways to save on the things we need often, like meat, and milk for instance...any way to SQUEEZE more out of the grocery $$$.

TIA

Back in the day, I would pay $6 for an 8-pack of Viva paper towels, so .75 each. If I had a $1/1 coupon to use, even better. I can still get Viva at the occasional Albertsons' 10/$10 sale which is practical if I have .40/1, .50/1 or .75/1 (best).

On the milk front, the good sale price is $2/gallon or $1/half-gallon. I mostly use CVS ECBs to buy our milk. Even at $3.29/gallon, no OOP is best in my book.
