Default Re: Dumpster Diving........2 Questions

I sort of got busted tonight. Not by a cop, but an employee of the place where I was in their dumpster.

I was pulling out inserts & this lady came up & asked what I was doing. I said, just pulling the coupons out. Oh, she said, it looked kind of strange. (She was on a break & came out to have a smoke). I told her I figured it was fine to take them since they were in the trash. She said yes but I was on private property. I said well I'm just trying to save a few bucks and she went on to say it was fine, that people will do anything for a buck. I said, well it's usually more than I buck I save! She laughed & said oh I know!

I felt wierd about it but quickly got over it as I gathered up at least 10 inserts!!! What a waste to just throw them out!! (this has been a good spot for me so I'd hate to lose it!!)

OMG Lisa!!! LOL - I am soooo happy that we have recycling bins throughout our county that aren't on private property. I really don't know if I could have done that. I would have been so embarrassed, LOL. I have a hard enough time pretending I'm not diving when people are dumping their recycling!

OMG - this is great! I'm heading to bed with visions of dumpsters in my head.

I need to think of some good places to dive. I wish my city separated recyclables...

There's a grabber at home depot in the home and garden section right now. I think it was about $20 but it's great! Very stable - not like those other ones that break if you look at them wrong.

Are you just "dumpster diving" at Recycling centers??

I was bummed to find out our city doesn't have a recycling center, the one we use isn't very close...

My sister once threw her income tax refund check out with some junk mail. She threw a kid in the dumpster to get that back!
