1. ENTRY PERIOD: Contest begins on Nov 18, 2011 and ends on Dec 31, 2011. All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm (ET) on Dec 31, 2011.

2. HOW TO ENTER: To enter, email your favorite holiday recipe to patriotfamily@aafes.com.Only entries submitted via the email address will be accepted. Entries submitted via any other method, including but not limited to U.S. Postal Service, facsimile or other express delivery services will NOT be accepted. Entry must include:

name, address, daytime phone and email address

an original photo of your favorite holiday recipe
rank and branch of service of sponsor and closest Exchange to your home
a description, fifty (50) words or less, of the origin of your recipe
Holiday Family Fave Recipe” in the subject line of your email
Recipes must include specific measurements and directions. Incomplete or inaccurate entries shall be void. Limit 2 entries per immediate family. If duplicate recipes are received, the email with the earliest entry date will be considered.

3. ELIGIBILITY: Open to all Military ID card holders 18 years of age and older. Employees of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (the “Exchange”), The Defense Commissary Agency (the “Commissary”) and their immediate family members (spouse and children) are NOT eligible to participate. Contest is governed by laws of the USA. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.

4. JUDGING PROCEDURE: The Winners of the contest will be determined by judging all the contestants’ submissions based on the following criteria: Flavor, originality and easy preparation.

FLAVOR:
Does this recipe taste wonderful with every bite? Does it have mass appeal? Would you want to make this recipe over and over based on the great taste?

ORIGINALITY:
Is the recipe an original or unique idea? Is there artistic or imaginative thought around ingredient usage and/or method?

EASY PREPARATION/FEASIBILITY:

Is this recipe capable of being created in a reasonable amount of time? How many ingredients does it use? Could anyone create this food by following the recipe?

All entries will be judged using the criteria stated above. All judging will be accomplished by the Exchange. Decision of the judges is final and binding on all matters relating to this contest. The top twelve creations will be published on the Patriot Family Connection website.

5. PRIZES: Three (3) first place winners will receive one (1) $500 Exchange gift card and one (1) $500 Commissary gift card. Three (3) second place winners will receive one (1) $250 Exchange gift card and one (1) $250 Commissary gift card. Three (3) third place winners will receive one (1) $100 Exchange gift card and one (1) $100 Commissary gift card. Three (3) fourth place winners will receive one (1) $50 Exchange gift card and one (1) $50 Commissary gift card. A total of twelve (12) prizes will be awarded.

6. SELECTION OF WINNERS: Winning recipes will be selected on or about Jan 30, 2012, and notified by email and telephone within 30 days after the completion of the judging. Entry and acceptance of prize(s) constitutes a contestant’s agreement and permission for the Sponsors and their agencies (if any) to use the contestant’s name, address (city and state) and likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation or authorization, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, unless prohibited by law. By participating in this contest, contestants and winners agree to abide by all contest rules and by the decision of the judges.

7. CONDITIONS: Sponsors are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries, lost connections, miscommunications, failed computer or telephone transmissions, other technical difficulties or failures. Sponsor is not responsible for any damage to user’s computer system from downloading/uploading any information necessary to participate in the contest or other technical difficulties or errors of any kind.

Sponsors reserve the right to terminate or modify this contest at any time for any reason. In this event, winners will be selected based on entries received to date of termination.

The recipe submission must be the original work of contestant and not previously published. Submission must not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity. All entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned. Limit two entries per family. Entry constitutes contestant’s grant to the Exchange without further consideration all rights, titles and interest in the submitted entry. The Sponsors reserve the right to use all entries in all print and electronic media, and to edit it for brevity and clarity.
