Sweepstakes ~ Other: How many sweeps or contests do you enter weekly?

HI! I've decided I'm going to give a go at entering contests and sweeps.

I see people are having successes and that's reasuring! I've always wondered if people really win or if it's just a way to advertise.

So I have a few questions

First- how many would you say you enter every week or so?
Second- Do you have favorite websites to find your contests and sweeps on?
Third- How lucky have you been and how long have you been entering?

I thought this would be something nice to try. It would really be nice to win something even something small!

I started thinking about it after a friend told me that her sister wins enough to help suppliment her income. She's always been the kind to exagerate and I'm not sure if that's something that happens...

I seriously doubt that you can supplement your income significantly unless you do it as a full time job.

I used to enter lots of them every day, but it was a complete waste of time for the most part. It takes a lot of effort, even with an auto form filler, for little to no return.

Now I enter one here or there if I run across it in an email, but that's about it. I won a weekly grilling thing through Food Lion, but that was a value of $175, mostly in the grill and cookbook.

I enter up to 532 a day, and win approximately $400.00 either in cash or prizes a month, i just started around November, 2008. I usually use Sweeties Sweepstakes and others but that is my main one. GL HTH

When my mental and physical health is on the upswing, I can enter a few hundred a day. For a while, now, I've been doing maybe 20 or so a day. I just can't get my head in it right now.

In 1993, I won a trip to Napa Valley, CA and Hilton Head, SC. In 2002, I won a trip for 5 people for 5 nights in Miami Beach. That trip was about $9,887 actual cost of airlines, hotel, limo, tickets, etc. About a year ago, I won a $350 baby jogger. Gave it to my cousin for his new baby. I won a $400 Visa GC and $100 worth of hair products about a year and a half ago. I won $500 at Winn-Dixie many years ago.

I just enter by fits and starts. When I'm feeling well, I can sit at the computer for hours and do this. Since my dad has been diagnosed with cancer, I haven't done too much. Just too much on my mind.

If I had the discipline to work hard for 4 hours a day, every day, I could probably win something on a pretty regular basis.

Today, I saw the UPS truck go up the street and turn around (dead-end street). I was just sure he was stopping here with a win. When he zoomed by, I shouted, "Hey! Where's my stuff?!" Thankfully, I live alone and the cats don't know what I said.

My "best" win, not my most expensive, was the trip to the Napa Valley. It was a writing contest. In 100 words or less, tell about your worst love experience. I was the grand prize winner! I wrote a story about my dead dog, but, the way I wrote it, you thought it was about a man until the very last line.

I just enter them as I see them here and there, BUT would also like to know where to go and maybe I could or would enter more of them!

Hey everyone. I just read your thread and wanted to pop over and give you a little food for thought. I don't enter anywhere as near as much as I used to - maybe 20 times a day and some days I take off completely. I still win consistently and it helps a whole lot. I just won $5,000 3 weeks ago and people on my site are winning too. Another person won $5,000 from the same sweeps and last week a reader won $15,000 which I haven't posted about yet but will this week. Others are winning gift certificates and other "usable" prizes as well.

I try not to enter for things like t-shirts or small prizes. I look for winnable sweeps since there are thousands of sweeps out there to enter. If you focus you have a better chance of winning something that you want or need.

I wrote an article about how we supplement our income with prize winnings in our household. If you read it you can see how it has made a difference in our lives.

I have already won over $6,600 in prizes this year so far which is higher than most for the time of year.

Yes I have won from the Sweetie Sweeps Site, recently $500 BB Gift Card and a 52" Home Theater System.

I enter tons and tons each week $11,000 and $8,000 Cash have been my best wins

I enter 30-50 a day depending on how many hours I work. I work full time so it's really just a hobby / way to earn extra money. I sell what I cannot use or give as a gift.
