Anyone ever done ACNielsen/Homescan Consumer Panel? - Page 3

I do that one. You have to scan your purchases through the week and then transmit them thru the scanner and your computer once a week. You earn points to cash in for prizes. I ordered a coffee grinder and got it really fast.

I have homescanned for 2 years now. i love it. it is very easy to do. so far i have earned a george foreman grill and an ear thermometer. both with free shipping. just that easy!

I've only been doing it for about 4 months and haven't earned enough points to 'buy' anything yet. But I like doing it, its kinda fun. And you can earn points by doing their surveys (real short) and are also entered in their sweepstakes by transmitting weekly and several other extra ways of earning rewards.

Today we got something from IRI (Information Resources, Inc.) about their Shopper's Hotline program. It appears to be like the ACNielsen Homescan program, but there isn't a lot of details about the actual scanning or points / rewards that can be earned, but it does indicate that you can receive a debit card as a reward! I am wondering if it is better than ACNielsen...has anyone heard about this? Maybe I should start a new thread so the Title might catch someone who is doing it.

I think I will stick w/ ACNielsen Homescan since I now have 38,200 points. Although, I am not sure there is really anything I want to save points for in the reward catalog.

DH keeps saying that we should quit and I have to admit I did a big Wal-mart trip this week and didn't have the time to scan it all in when I got home. I do think the points should somehow be tied to the number of things you scan...not meaning that scanners who don't buy much should be punished

, but I am starting to need an incentive to scan in my SWM tripe w/ 100+ items! Of course, it is much easier when I buy 12 boxes of hot cocoa or other stockpile supplies!

Anyway, happy scanning and I'd still like to hear any opinions on IRI Shopper's Hotline if anyone is doing it.

I'm on the waiting list for this one. Sounds pretty cool.

I have a question for those who do this...

Do you get to see a list or something with all the info of things you scan like in an excel program? I'm wondering because it'd be cool to keep track of what you pay for things this way. TIA!

I've been waiting for about 1 month now. I guess I'll be waiting a lot longer! But that's ok, I'm in the middle of getting my house ready to (try) to sell anyway so taking on another "task" might be too much to handle with a 14 month old and all the other survey and points sites I do!!
