Default info on National Consumer Panel

I think I'm in the right place for this question. Anyoe know anything about National Consumer Panel? Apparently they send you a scanner and you scan barcodes of everything you buy and upload results once a week for prizes and points. Curious to know if this is real and if anyone has had dealings with them.
    Thanks

No one responded to you? Well I am a member of NCP and it's a fairly neat program. You're information actually does impact manufacturers and retailers. They get more information from this than what they get out of the computer/registers from the stores.

Now if you are doing it strictly for the prizes, this isn't for you. I've been a member and religiously scan all my trips and transmit my information every week and I still haven't gotten to the points needed for the lowest level of prizes.

PM me if you have any other questions :-)

I had the scanner for about 2 months and really hated it. It is so time consuming and laborious that it wasn't worth it at all for me. They are a good company, but the rewards are not worth your time IMO.

I got in but then I got the scanner and realized how much time and effort the program would take for fairly little return....I sent it back.

I get a lot more return from the surveys I do so I just stick with those.

I agree, it does take a whole lot of time and you don't get very many points at all. Not quite what I had hoped for.

I guess I'm one of those people that has too much time on their hands so I stick with programs like this. They do send you little thank you gifts from time to time though.
Also as you continue, the points you receive for each transmission increases (i.e. 150 points per transmission for the first 6 months, 200 pts per trans for 7-12 months, and so on).
I'll stick with it for a while and see what happens....

I have been a member for quite some time. I was a member of another, similar, company that folded and they then referred me to NCP. Personally, I prefer the other company's reward program. They would turn your points into cash and load the cash onto a debit card that they issued. With NCP, you use the points to purchase items from their catalog. There isn't a great selection to choose from, however. There are a few of what I would call "luxury" items (i.e. designer purses, jewelry, etc.) but these require a very large amount of points. Most of the items are small household items, many of them not of high quality. I have still yet to use my points to purchase rewards because I simply don't have enough points to purchase anything of value to me. I will still participate in the program because I don't feel that it requires too much time and maybe some day (or year!) I'll have enough points to acquire something I desire. HTH!

Other than the fact that I never belonged to another company's program, this is EXACTLY my experience with NCP.

It doesn't take me long to scan stuff so I've stuck with it, although I'm not sure why since not many of the rewards appeal to me. I did order a bath toy for my twins for Christmas last year with some of my points. It arrived very quickly and was very cute/good quality.

I've been a member for about 18 months.
