Lightspeed Panel merging with MySurvey

For any of you out there who use Lightspeed Panel, here is an email I received today about upcoming changes:

A few weeks ago, we let you know about some upcoming changes to the Lightspeed Panel. LightspeedPanel.com has joined forces with MySurvey.com to make your overall membership and survey taking experience more enjoyable and rewarding.

Beginning January 24, 2011 your Lightspeedpanel.com membership will be transferred to the MySurvey.com consumer research panel. MySurvey.com is very similar to LightspeedPanel.com, and your experience will be the same as it has been on the Lightspeed Panel. You will still:

• Share your opinions about the products and services you use every day.
• Earn Reward Points for taking surveys. Reward Points can be redeemed for e-certificates, gift cards, merchandise, charity donations and much more. Mysurvey.com offers the same reward options as Lightspeedpanel.com
• Opportunities to be entered into several MySurvey.com sweepstakes with prizes awarded daily, monthly and quarterly.

For the next few days, you may continue participating in surveys sent to you by LightspeedPanel.com as you have in the past.

• As of January 22, 2011 you will no longer be able to login to http://us.lightspeedpanel.com
• Beginning January 24, you will login to https://www.mysurvey.com with the same email address and password used to login to the Lightspeed Panel to take surveys and view your Reward Points.
• Survey invitations will be sent to you from carol@mysurvey.com please be sure to add that address to your approved email contacts to ensure you receive our survey invitations.

All points you have received for taking surveys will be transferred to your MySurvey.com membership. If you are already participating in surveys for MySurvey.com your accounts will be combined.

MySurvey.com and LightspeedPanel.com are owned by the same parent company, The Kantar Group, the information, insight and consultancy division of WPP. MySurvey.com is a member of TRUSTe. Your privacy is assured. Your information will only be used to contact you with survey invitations and information related to your MySurvey.com membership. I dont particularly love Mysurvey so I am hoping this is not going to be a bad thing. Their point values are equivalent:
Lightspeed Panel - 575 points = $5
Mysurvey - 1150 points = $10 paypal

Other people may have different experiences but I usually only get survey invitations from Mysurvey for like 5-25 points..where with lightspeed my survey offers would usually be for 75-350 points. Big difference. Plus I get tons of survey offers from Lightspeed and rarely any from Mysurvey. Now this may be something I am doing, I dont know. But maybe others have different experiences?? Let us know if so.

hmmm, interesting.

I'm not sure what to expect. I'm not a member at MySurveys..lol must be the only one I'm not a member at, so I can't compare them to Lightspeed, but I will say that since for the past several months, I have not been able to get into any of the Lightspeed surveys that I get invites to. Everytime I try I get a technical error message which of course means I can't try that particular survey again. The reply I got to my email to their customer service was absolutely no help at all. So I'm hopeful that changes will be for the better!!!

I have to admit I like MySurvey. I have done a lot of product testing for them.

Hmmm, I've only been with Lightspeed for about 6 months and have had the most success with them of any compnay. Not sure I like this change? Does MySurveys have Amazon rewards? Or just Paypal?

I'm hoping to topoff my account so I can cashout between now and then. Here's hoping for a few more surveys :)

I am not a fan of this change. I don't really care for MySurvey - few survey invites at low points like OP. But I do like Lightspeed, so we'll see!

Just checked out the new MySurvey. It's okay. One thing I noticed is that you can get checks now. 1150 pts = $10 check, or 1100pts = $10 pp/Amazon/other gcs. I'm hoping I get as many survey invites as I got with Lightspeed!

Thats good to know, amylynne. I havent looked at the new site yet. But so far, no survey invites either. I guess we will soon see.

Interesting. I had certainly noticed a decline in the number of lightspeed panel surveys lately.

Not sure what to think. I like lightspeed. I hate mysurvey. I feel like they drag you along too long and then disqualify you.

We shall see.

In mm mind, these are two very different sites-it takes longer to get to a cashout point with my surveys but I have had lots more product testing opportunities than with Lightspeed. It will be interesting to see how the combined site works. I just hope they don't lose any of my points in the merge!

I got a 400 pt survey today! I haven't been getting very many invites, but I'm feeling a little better with this one.
