I agree they should have explained it a bit better but I have had no problems with any other pictures etc since I installed it.
It's a legit program yes. But why couldn't Pinecone just come out and say it? And just about everyone's virus program was not a fan of the software. My Trend begged me not to install it and after it was installed and scanned declared it a virus I have no problem with them using this type of software, if I was a manufacturer I wouldn't want my ideas ripped off either. But Pinecone should have stated exactly what this software was and probably found a more compatible program. I hate compatibilty issues...I have enough with SS

It is to keep people from copying the pictures that belong to the companies. I have no problems with that. But Pinecone didn't say that's what it was. They just said it was for viewing pictures. A lot of people had trouble installing this. Antivirus programs go crazy over this software thinking it's a virus or spyware. I managed to get it installed but my Trend scanned it and declared it a virus and after hearing enough people with various antivirus programs having the same problem, I uninstalled it. Some people couldn't get the program installed period.

Since I uninstalled it I can't view pictures in their surveys anymore  I just wish they would have been upfront about what the program was and maybe used a program that didn't scare my Trend so badly

Yea I haven't seen avast mentioned mainly Kapersky, Mcafee, Trend, AVG and some others. This is one of those times I wish our roommate still lived with us. He could tell me whether or not it would effect anything besides the surveys.

I didn't have any issues. And frankly, I didn't read the email on why I needed it either. Pinecone is raved about so much around here, I never would have thought it was anything bad. I have two suggestions for the people who are upset by this.

1. Email/call Pinecone and let them know why you are upset. Complaining doesn't do anything unless they know. Maybe if enough people complain they will come up with something more compatible.

2. Quit Pinecone.

I did notify Pinecone. Others have notified Pinecone. Pinecone has been notified lol. But if they're anything like SS I doubt it'll matter...at least Pinecone didn't send me an email with their FAQ like SS does
